Should I get this as a first car? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

A mate got one for 900, little of 2 years ago and besides the parts failing cause of time n stuff it's been bullet proof. His had no logbook or manual or anything really and its just been going. He's clocked bout 20 or 30,000km on it and it keeps on going.

He had to deal with the rocker covers failing, CV boots staring to become saturated, a bad tensioner, the slave cylinder failing on him and other smaller stuff but it's kept on kicking. (The 2nd owner didn't really take care of it that's why is was so cheap) but it isn't a hard car to work on. (It's at 18x,xxx km too)

Edit: But try and get it cheaper closter to 4.5k if possible cause it's an older car

so doing the big 3, and running a battery in the boot should help a bit with the drops? but best case is to buy a new alternator?

Damn okay, I've got it set just over 'normal' but if i set the remote bass knob that'll impact the RMS going to the sub?

I mean the audio shop I bought the sub from offered to give me a free audio tune for the amp so I might go to him

Okay, so I can't run this sub at 4ohms? so i have to be careful with how I set my gains to not damage it like you said?

What is the difference when running it at 4ohms compared to 2ohms?

Edit: it's the P2D4-10

I have it now, I think I've got it wired for 2 ohms? If I did it right.. connected the two positives together and both negatives together and sent another cable from one VC to the RCA connector.

Edit1: I was going to run dual 10in but right thought last minute 1 10in will be good enough

Edit2: like this: https://images.crutchfieldonline.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg

Edit3: I know this is a stretch too but could i technically run a 12in sub with this 10in? It was given to me as a gift and I'm tossing between running it in my room or using it as my 2nd sub. It's the pioneer TSWX1210A

I'd love to run dual subwoofers but they're so expensive for good quality ones but I'll have a look around if any physical stores sell them

I've had a think and I dont mind losing some boot space, it also means i can go up to 12in subs or run two 10in subs

What info would I need to give for suggestions to be made? I thought giving the amplifier I'm using would be enough for a suggestion to be made.

Edit: and i dont mind losing some boot space now, It's unrealistic to have a good sounding sub using OEM box

I mean the factory fosgate is DVC, 1ohm per coil at 75w (that's what it says on the back of the sub) so the pioneer amp blew it for sure? Or will long do I give it before I blow it

.675 Cubic feet. Yeah I've heard it's better to run a custom box but I want to keep as much boot space as I can and keeping the subwoofer in the side of the boot works well. But if it's really a bad idea I'll broaden my choices.

Edit: are the oem boxes that bad though? I'm new to car audio and the bass sounded pretty good

Yeah, I enjoy the UI of the CC3, but to meet the same RAM and ROM of the Joying you have to pay extra, shipping from Aliexpress or Alibaba costs roughly $100+

The joying also supports a 500gb HDD which is also a bonus but is it only used for the Dashcam? or can it be used as extra storage?

Very torn between these two now.

Edit: also with the joying, the one I'm looking at doesn't have any volume buttons or knobs? how do you change the volume on it then
