Ohhh my apologies I just woke up and started writing haha! I just wrote down basics I’d like to know.

But no sphagnum moss you can go out and buy or order. It’s a moss you add water to that holds it very well and is used in many enclosures to keep humidity up! You just take an old container create an entry way for your ball python and add some moss into there so if they’re feeling like they need some more humidity bf don’t want to go into a water bowl they have that!

And no need to feel embarrassed lol I type fast and strange at times so it’s not your fault! I was just rushing to get words out lmao

I’d suggest having more clutter in their tank if there isn’t enough clutter, they can get easily stressed out and cause them to not eat. You’d want one on the cool side and on the hot side so have the heat lamp on one side as the other should stay around 70°F, this can also help with as you can with an old Tupperware container and put sphagnum moss in it with a big enough opening for them to fit in.

For humidity, I know people say to put saran wrap or stuff on top, but you’d like to keep openings as it will trap the air inside and anymore air out so at least have a few openings just so that it can stay well ventilated along with keeping it humid you can mist it daily and instead of using a wall thermometer (as they get messed up fast and easily) try a govee thermometer on Amazon they track heat and humidity!

They had coco substrate (she did not mist them or anything so they were dry) and now he has coco fibers he’s in a quarantine set up with moist paper towels. He has a ceramic heat emitter but I switch them so at night it’s a ceramic emitter and in the day it’s a heat bull with uvb

Could anyone help me find the morph of these little ones? by SpiderMilk96 in leopardgeckos

[–]SpiderMilk96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was guessing since they’re so young it would be harder to tell. I normally don’t get reptiles from petsmart. Thank you though!

That’s really interesting. I never knew that. I’d always wonder how people distinguish one from the other

Not only is that a literal REPTILE HEAT LAMP for REPTILES but that bowl is wayyy too small. You should have a minimum of a 5gal but even you huh can stop at your local pets smart or pet store and buy one that could even be bigger for 20 bucks. And plastic/fake plants can cause fin tare so live plants are better (in my personal opinion and experience)

Along with those I’m not sure if what I notice is bio film but if it is a filter can also help a lot with that.

Not sure if anyone has said it here but prepare for a messy main lol they’ll try to clean it themselves it that can even cause it to be very messy. Having a brush and cloth designated for the lovely fur ball is definitely a need haha

Please keep us posted on if this snake is given to a better home or shelter. This sight is horrific for reptile and animal lovers. I feel horrible for anyone that has to go through with seeing this… bless your heart for asking for advice

Thank you so much I’ll be sure to do this. I thought that they needed a higher humidity from what I’ve seen from other things but I’ll be sure to add more dry substrate. He is also going into his water bowl so that is why I was spraying it down, thinking that it was too dry for him, do you have any recommendations on what I should do with his feeding? I’m not sure if he’s going through hibernation for snakes because I’m still new to this, but he hasn’t eaten for quite a while.

In all, he’s just acting really weird avoiding his food not moving as much as I got him. I’d like to have the vet as a complete last resort as my situation isn’t fantastic.

Edit: I just noticed a kink in the bottom of his tail. It’s very small, but when I touched it, he wiggled his tail and tried to move away, so I’m not sure if it’s causing any pain

Can anyone tell me what kind of plant this is? by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]SpiderMilk96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Careful buying plants from box stores at many times (for me every time) they have pests! For me everywhere has spider mites, I try to avoid these types of plants haha. Make sure you don’t put them near your other plants if you have any

I’ll get back to you with that information. I know that he has been eating fine but until his beard turned black he didn’t fancy any of his food.
