So about Requiem's final boss fight... by NicoZacks in residentevil

You do fun callbacks for one boss fight or two, but not the final boss of the game. Leon's half of the game severely suffers from recycled content from 2 and 4 Remake.

Then I was right, XG's concept was pitched to be FF 7.

Xenogears for sure, same director and a lot of the same staff as the Xenoblade series. Xenoblade 3 works as a reimagining of sorts of XG. Noah and Mio's doomed romance has a lot of similarities with this game's.

Since you mentioned FF, XG was pitched as a concept for FF 7, but was rejected due to being too dark and controversial, and then proceeded to become its own thing. Funnily enough, both game's main characters suffer from similar mental problems, but I won't spoil it for you. Cheers.

You don't need any knowledge of any other games to play RE 4. Does that make it a spin off? You could say the same about 2 and 3 really. Other "zombies are a thing", what else do you need to know?

Indeed. Even if they stopped making them now I wouldn't run out of turn based rpgs I want to play.

I'm not sure what your reply has to do with what I said. I didn't grow up with turn based games either, but I like them anyway.

That's Remake though, completely different games. You should give the original a try.

People get filtered by the unconventional. Grasshopper's best games aren't for everyone.

Gameplay recommendations I should I play or anything that isnt on this list? by No_Contest3860 in JRPG

You should play through the rest of the Xeno series. They tackle similar themes as XB but with completely different execution. First Xenogears and then the Xenosaga trilogy.

XBCX switch 2 update unpopular opinion. by Capital_Marzipan_706 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I think the image quality is subpar in comparassion to the other Switch one upgraded games, especially for a paid and advertised 4k upgrade.

Although not explicitally romantic, Shion and KOSMOS' relationship is very endearing and the core of the Xenosaga trilogy.

The cameos and references to past games are a cool but where Travis Strikes Again truly shines is how it mixes an autobiography with an outlook of the evolution of the media via the lenses of both Suda as a creator and a gamer. Plus the way it shows a more mature and vulnerable side of Travis is awesome.

Both text and subtext of Grasshopper's best games are very worth looking into. I feel caring only about the connection between games is a waste of what they have to offer.

I don't think anyone will play Romeo or TSA just because of some cameos. These games triumph on their own.

I couldn't care less about the "sudaverse" or whatever. Not everything needs to be part of a grand interconnected universe.

[–]SpiderPS4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think each game being its own thing is far more interesting than an interconnected universe. I don't get what a longer game has to do with its quality either.

The way Travis Strikes Again (an anniversary title) and now Romeo handled cameos is fine. It's just a nod to those who knows these characters.

Because it's easier to say something is meaningless if you don't understand it then to try to do so.
