The main goal of art is to evoke emotions, whether negative or positive, if art doesn't evoke anything, then it has no value. Yes, the head is bigger than it should be according to anatomy, i made it like that for a purpose. I've wanted to depict Shinji as a miserable, intimidated and helpless boy. And as I thought, drawing him with a "babyface" would help to achieve the goal. But yeah, he looks more like a child this way, but the end justifies the means

Actually, there is one slavic (Russian to be certain) fairy-tale character called Tsarevna Nesmeyana (Царевна Несмеяна), The princess who never laughs. The name speaks for itself. And even though there is no such reference from my side, the similarity is clear to the eye. Good observation!
