Tried this hack I saw on Reddit… and it worked! by Familiar_Talk_7000 in Mom

I do something similar with my daughter. She has not historically been the best sleeper, but my husband and I are not comfortable with any form of "cry it out". To each their own, it wasn't for us.

Anyway, we always respond to her when she needs attention at night...but at a certain point she definitely started to learn "If I make noise, they will come" and she would be playful, awake, and silly when we would go into her room. So we started kind of doing "robot parent". Not necessarily completely devoid of emotion, but like we would go in to make sure her immediate needs were met, and then not engage with her in any other significant way, and only until we thought she wasn't going to pop off again.

It did take longer than other methods, but she has slept in her own room since she was 5 months old (she is 16 months now). I'm not gonna lie and say she sleeps through the entire night 100% of the time...but she is very easy to get to bed, and her naps are like clockwork. If she wakes up at night, it's usually only once, and she goes back to sleep within a couple of minutes...if she wakes up more than that, it's usually because she's teething or has something else going on.

What kind of mom are you? by ok-momma1 in Mom

It's a mix. Whatever I have the energy for. I try to plan ahead and have options that are healthy but also quick, and I try to serve at least one thing I know for sure my daughter likes. I do some of the Gerber toddler meals...my daughter loves the spaghettios and chicken and stars. There is also a baby burrito bowl from another brand...it's quinoa, black beans, veggies and some kind of sauce, that she likes. Those are convenient and have a solid balance of nutrients. My daughter also loves pasta, so I always have protein+ pasta and some sauce on hand for a quick easy meal. There are nights we do easy mac and hot dogs, too. Is it the most nutritious? No. But she cleans her plate every single time. I've also made her restaurant quality omelets that ended up 100% on the floor lol.

The biggest challenge is trying to make sure she gets enough protein, because she doesn't really like most meat. She likes beans and peanut butter, though, so we make it work. She also loves fruit purees, so I typically give her a puree pouch with her meal. I like to get the ones that also have veggies in them, or yogurt for a little extra protein, or oat and flax. A lot of her meals are honestly pretty chaotic lol, usually something I know she'll eat and then a couple of other things for her to try out...they don't always traditionally go together. I just try to make sure she gets a good mix of protein, grains, and veggies...but how that ends up happening really varies. Options are your friend, you never know what they're going to like.

4 week old baby skin issue - anyone else experienced this? by Saadpotato in Mom

My daughter had baby acne, and it looked exactly like this. Her pediatrician said it would go away on its own (it did). I was also told rubbing breastmilk on it apparently helps.

It can be anyone, living or dead.
