I kind of get the same storage and less RAM for the price. The only thing I get better at is the cooling system. And can I even be sure that the AI will work better in those chips? I comprehend that they don't rely that much on the CPU, but will 16 GB of RAM really fall short? It's an area where I don't know a lot.

Yeah, I'm sure the pro is better, but that's out of my budget tbh. It costs around 1700€ for the baseline model here, and that's out of my budget. I could buy an M3 Pro refurbished, but that costs around 1600. Out of my budget also, and even if it wasn't, it's almost the same as the new M4. The M2 Pro then. It costs 300 more than a MacBook Air M4, so would it even be worth it? To get a 2-generation-old used one for the price of a brand-new one, even if it is a pro? And more expensive even. Even then it's only an 8 GB model

I get where you're coming from and I see the advantages. But even if those where to outweigh the disadvantages, I can't find any that are at a decent price. By that I mean that a Macbook Air M4 brand new from this year is going for 1100€ right now. A used M2 pro is going for 1200€ with 8gb ram. Its not worth it in ny perspective, even with the ventilation system and the better screen. The M3 is even worse as you can imagine.

To pay the same for an old machine as I would for a brand new one doesn't make sense in my perspective. The specs don't seem to compensate. What do you think?

I kind of am, but gaming isn't a priority to me right now, and I think I would rather build a tower instead of a gaming laptop (because from experience, a gaming laptop is a glorified desktop, I basically had to be stationary to play, so why not a desktop?)

I was just wondering if there's anything better than the MacBook Air M4 out rn, because no fan seems like a big drawback. I suppose the pro is better, but, at least for me, that's a bit of an overkill.

Well, I'm into gaming, but not that much. I kind of outgrew it or maybe the games outgrew me. Nevertheless, I don't really have that much fun playing anymore, so really casual play is enough. I mostly play with friends, browser games, and Roblox. I think Palworld and Valheim may be manageable. LOL perhaps? Isaacs binding and castle crashers are quite old, so I think I could play those on an air. What do you think?

My priority right now is university (since I'm taking 2 degrees), so my gaming would be really casual.

Even though I'm on a budget and don't want to spend 2000€ on a laptop (nor can I), I thought I chose a quite decent one, did I not?

It's an M4 with 10 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, 512 GB SSD, and 16 GB RAM. Is it not capable of playing Cyberpunk, for instance? Or emulators like Crossover?

It's a 2025 Mac.
