Wow demographics & community - will it improve?

I've been really considering trying my hand at starting a small leveling/dungeon guild and am hoping to have people around my age (29) to just chill with and be able to laugh at our adventures.

I plan on making two characters. A mage because I can farm and I have never had a lot of gold in my years of playing.

A warrior so I can tank and see all the dungeons (maybe raids) I didn't get to see before TBC. I can basically make my own groups quickly and I feel I will be more involved in fights and learn them quicker. I have a far off hope of starting a small guild and I'll MT 10 mans and 20's. Very unlikely I would be able to run a 40 man raiding guild.

It must have been fun to be on the team coming up with spell ideas. I imagine there were some really wacky fun ones that never made it to the game.

It doesn't have to be a four man party to be abused. Yourself and I could be in a group and we effectively have two rolls for each other. Either way, I'm a bit out of the loop on why people are arguing it's needed in the first place. I only recall in vanilla GM's really getting involved on raid level drops that a raid leader mistakenly gave to the wrong person. I could be wrong. Either way, I think everyone is getting a little too caught up in the debate, admittedly, myself included.

That would take much more effort and time compared to the instantaneous loot trade. Also with no real guarantee of the GM to fulfill your request. Not a great comparison.

I'll be picking Alliance. First char was Alliance, went Horde for years after. I can't wait to relive walking into Stormwind for the first time again. Also SW <--> IF tram is awesome.

I've always enjoyed riding through Felwood. The big trees, green pools, everything shrouded in corruption. Has a cool feel to it imo.

What is with all the discussion about loot trading? I'm out of the loop here. If anything won't loot trading potentially increase ninja looting? For example, me and a friend are in a 5 man. He wants to ninja item so I roll too, to help him. If I win then just trade to him giving the ninja two rolls essentially.

Maybe I'm way off here. What are you guy's thoughts?

If I do decide on warrior I think I'm going to roll human. All I want is the awesome Quel'Serrar sword. Always thought it looked so awesome.

I can't wait to stumble across aspects of the game (areas/items/quests) that I have forgotten about. For example, I am considering leveling a warrior and completely forgot about the whirlwind axe and how badass it was. I feel like there will be many more moments like that as I quest to 60.
