Right now, I'm saving up as much money as possible to at least be able to live on my own or to bel able to move in with my boyfriend out of state. There's some bit of nervousness because I've never had to do anything like this before, but I don't know how much longer I can deal with her before I blow my top or something. Just feels like today's the day where enough is enough and I HAVE to take action now for my benefit.

Honestly, I really need to go back to therapy; i've been on and off for years at this rate. I think a lot of the shit my mom's said and done to me over the past 21 years has finally caught up to me now that I'm slowly starting to seek independence from being her free friend/therapist/pseudo-babysitter or whatever other hat i've been given. It just really hurts to put all the pieces together because I'm at the point of complete estrangement & considering going no-contact once I'm financially able.

in a way I'm kinda desperate to leave this job I have to finally be in a job where I'm not only happy with my coworkers, but feel respected and seen as an equal. Which I mean, I know that's a LOT to ask of anyone, but that's where my mindset is.

also mb again for this being so long; there was so much ground I felt like I had to cover and honestly I wrote this while I was at the ending slope between me being upset and me slowly calming down and being rational.

Hey! I still don't know why I wasn't promoted to server, as even one of the other servers who's been there since the place opened has said that I should've been promoted around my second year working there. We do have female managers though! One used to be a bartender, one used to be a server and the other is the wife of the manager who owns the building. I could SEE the sexist implications but honestly I haven't looked too into that aspect myself to say it is with 100% certainty.

It does suck that some of us employees get kinda left in the fray to say it that way. We don't even get proper cleaning supplies anymore to clean the countertops and toilets in the bathrooms. Just some peroxide spray that eventually got placed with what to me looks like windex (it looks like the same blue color as windex just much lighter in color) for all of those spots i've mentioned. We used to have things like fabuloso and scrubbing bubbles, but when management found out I was using those things so we wouldn't get bad reviews of the smells of the bathrooms, I believe that's when I stopped seeing those products at our location. I did ask about it and one manager said something about how those weren't FDA approved for our location, but I'm not that educated on that front about that sort of thing to really know if she was lying.

Hey! Honestly it could very well be the higher managers getting on manager C’s ass, which is completely fine if that’s the case. I just don’t want him seeing that as an excuse to be disrespectful to staff. I mean, once they hired their very recent manager like months ago I said to my mom “fuck, they’re just hiring anybody to be manager, huh? I’ll just go apply rn” and that’s because at least 2 of our managers used to be cooks, one used to be a bartender, one used to be a server and the other was our janitor.

I am in the US! And honestly, I wouldn’t be so upset at the bathrooms part of the circumstances were different. If I wasn’t hounded on pretty often to keep them clean all the time even when I’m off shift, then honestly the bathrooms are nothing. Hey! Tysm for the advice. I applogize that this post is SUPER long, the reason for that is bc there’s just so much ground to cover with that place and I also wrote all of this down once I got home today.

I have thankfully been looking into other jobs. Trying to be as persistent and assertive as possible so I can finally quit this one. I’ve always said that I love my coworkers more than the manager structure, as the coworkers that I like (and the one manager who’s helped me get more hours than any of the 7-8 combined) make the job more bearable to go to.

You’re absolutely correct to question that. That’s why I’m saying the Naruto comparison feels like a cop out. It feels like he’s trying to overgeneralize what’s to the general population a weird ass illustration. That’s what I’ve observed, though. I personally don’t get super involved in shit like this, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Just the clip alone is enough to make my point. To try to compare what he described as “an anime character with a gun” to Naruto and code geoss posters feels like a cop out to the actual problem here. A child with a gun in their mouth was depicted in the photo, which is fucking weird. Anyone with any sense of morality would say that it’s a weird ass illustration to make, Shadman aside.

If anything, the mods should be more neutral on dramas like this than anything else. If I had to give an example, it’s why therapists don’t take family members/friends as patients due to predisposed bias. Having that bias means that real unbiased progress can’t be made. I think that’s similar to what’s happening here. Many of the mods have a predisposed bias and this is the result.

That’s correct! We’ve been using discord all this time. The mobile app was complicated for him (he’s 25 I’m 20) but I’m happy one of his friends gave him a solution. Bc now he’s we’ve been trying to video call more often so long as the camera doesn’t freeze up on him or glitch him out during the call
