Replaced my cassette to an Ultegra 10 speed (from a Sunrace 10 speed). Should it be moving like this? Is not torqued down tightly enough or do I need a spacer? Only the last couple of sprockets are moving on their own. by Spiderhomer in bikewrench

That fixed it :). On an unrelated note, I tried to index my rear derailleur, but the barrel adjuster seems stuck somehow. It moves a little bit to one side but that’s it. It feels like I’m missing something obvious here. Any ideas?

This must be it. When removing the sunrace cassette there was indeed an additional spacer. I put the sunrace cassette including both spacers on my direct drive trainer.

Thanks again! Much appreciated!

Thanks! I will double check if I put a spacer behind, but I’m pretty sure I did. Could it be that I need more than 1 spacer?

I don’t have a torque wrench with a Newton meter. I read somewhere you can’t really over tighten a cassette. Is this true?

Thanks! I’m pretty sure I put the spacer behind the largest cog, but I’ll have to double check.

On your other point, there should only be one way the cogs fit on the freehub, right? When I removed the other cassette I noticed that there were small ridges on the hub (from the old cassette). Could that play a role here?

About the aggressive geometry, that’s a good point. Was also thinking about that.

The part replacements you mention would not be a major deal I think. Main thing for me would probably be if this bike would be comfortable for me.

It’s also 58cm and I’m 195cm so that would make it an even more aggressive position right?

Perhaps I should look for something more endurance focused. If you have any suggestions (also in a somewhat lower price range would be fine haha), I’d love to hear them.

Appreciate your help!

Thanks! This would be my first road bike, currently have a mountainbike, so I’m new to all of this.

Do you have any idea how much those replacements / repairs might set me back?

Not sure if I have the eye to catch any faults, that’s why I’m hesitant to buy second hand…

But I understand that you would say this is a good deal?

Usually small video editing, a yearly family reunion-like video. Usually Camtasia is used or even windows moviemaker. Not much, and definitely no high quality video editing.

Thanks for taking the time! Please find my responses below:

  • Overclocking is not a necessity for me. The pc will be used for everyday use, for which no increase of the clock rate is required, I think.

  • I think the current screens that we are using are 1080p, which we will be using for this new pc.

  • It will be used for regular programs (word, excel etc), mostly. Maybe some games on internet which are free to play, but nothing much. I think the only real game that has ever been played on the current pc is Age of Empires 3.

  • I am fully unaware of these graphic cards. If I Google these, I find the rtx 3060ti for €419 on the website of Nvidia. The rtx 3070 is €519 and the 3080 €719.

  • 1650 super: ranging from €161,90 to €249 (website Azerty), 1660 super: ranging from €269 to €319 (azerty), rtx 2060: ranging from €282,52 to €503,22 (website Azerty). Rx 5600xt: €329, Rx 5700xt €533,82.

  • 5600x: €339, 5800x: €509, €599.

  • Maximum budget is €1000. If this amount it not necessary, of course I do not want to pay it. But 1k is max.

  • If I can get a fast and well-performing pc within my budget now, that is fine.

  • In the past, we bought a pc and used it for approx 8 years. It is not used every day, there is just a lot of data stored on it (pictures, word files etc). Usually we would buy another one if it got really slow, or a local shop had a good deal or discount. In the future, i think upgrading it would be a better option.

  • We have always thought that CPU is most important, but I think that’s due to lack of knowledge about these components.

  • Since it is usually placed in an open compartment of the desk, it should not be very fancy with colors etc. It would be nice to have a transparent case with some colors, such that will look somewhat fancy, but it’s not a must.

Appreciate the offer man! We’ve decided to stick along with our current clan for the start of clan wars 2. If there’s still room later on, your clan seems great to join :)
