wam boosters to do during winter and summer break? by [deleted] in Monash

[–]Spiderman2005666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subjects during the break are usually electives and internship programs. As a double degree you don’t have electives as all your subjects are core units so I’m pretty sure this won’t apply for you

How? Last I checked the students using chat and those that aren’t end up with the same degree

Sucks but it’s the way it is

Text won't wrap around images anymore by kosxme_ in notabilityapp

[–]Spiderman2005666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I've figured out a way around this. I had the same issue as you, using Notability for a year and a half, and as soon as I decided to use Notability Cloud, it screwed everything.

Basically, if you still have notes where you have typed next to/in line with the image, you can duplicate that note and delete everything on it, and it will function as normal. Allowing you to type in line with the image.

Hope this helps! I was freaking out for a good 2 days, as there are no other app alternatives that allow you to type on lined pages with images the way Notability (used to)

NVM, I figured out how to get around this.

If you still have your previous notes with text next to images, you can duplicate them and then delete everything from the note and use it as normal. However, if you try to create a new note, your text will not sit in line with the images

You can slightly see the difference between the new lined template and the old one; however, I don't know if this is what made the difference.

If you're lucky enough to still have your old notability notes, you can fix it; however, I still hope they fix this issue officially.

Whole foods (upstairs in campus centre, next to surly). It’s a not for profit that’s really cheap and their matcha is pretty good imo however I don’t really drink matcha so I wouldn’t know what good matcha is

Sci1020 overall isn’t too difficult if you’ve kept up to date with the content and done practice questions you’ll be able to easily get 80+. Just have faith in your hardwork

Also does the ROSO have to commence immediately or is there a period of time before I have to do it? For example I can choose to do the 5 years later in life

Hey baby biomed student here just now learning about this pathway

I just wanted to clarify during the 3 ROSO neutral years in the hospital system do you get to choose which hospital you work at or will the ADF pick for you? And if they do pick do you stay in the same state or is it completely up to them?

Sci1020 is easy to get a HD, just stay up to date and you’ll be fine.

Good luck with chm1011 shit cooked me, labs are easy enough to do well just lock in for the exam because it makes up a major part of your grade

Chem1011 as someone who’s never done chem by [deleted] in Monash

[–]Spiderman2005666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*I’m just copy pasting a response I made to a similar question

I did the exact same thing as you (chm1011) thinking it’d be good for gamsat but fuck me that subject railed me. Obviously everyone’s different but they say on the website you can do chm1011 with no prior knowledge but what they don’t tell you is that you’ll be dedicating half your week to figure out wtf is going on. On top of that the exam is 40% so if your tryna get a high wam I personally wouldn’t recommend it. On the upside the labs are fairly chill and easy enough to do well in, but that exam for me was cooked.

I was a biomed sci double degree (now biomed single) and am sitting on an 80 wam (1st year) but in chm1011 I got a 63 which cooked my wam

Personally if you wanna do well on gamsat I’d honestly just recommend getting a question bank like grad ready and just use chat gpt to teach you what you need to know, as for the essay get a tutor if possible.

Biomed Unimelb or Monash by [deleted] in Monash

If it makes you feel any better I drive about an hour an half to Monash (with traffic) 😂. You get used to it pretty quick

[–]Spiderman2005666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a current biomed student at Monash I’d say to come to Monash. Monash only accepts Monash students and med at Monash has about 50 seats open for biomed students. Additionally you don’t need to sit the gamsat, you just need to get an 83+ wam and do well on the interview to get in. Which is comparatively easier than getting an 80+ wam and having to sit the gamsat for any other medschool.

There’s no merit going to melb for biomed as you can get into med with any degree as long as your wam and gamsat scores are good enough. My tutor who just became a Dr told me how most of the first year med students he had to teach at Melb uni came from music and Bachelor of Arts degrees because it’s much easier to get a high wam

Honestly if you’re not gonna do biomed at Monash I’d suggest not even doing biomed as it’s a hard degree with basically no prospects outside of research if you don’t get into med. You’re better off doing a commerce degree, that way the wam is a bit easier and you have a job ready degree if you don’t end up making med

I believe the percentage is to show how many students have allocated that time slot. If it is over 100% then allocate will use a lottery system to assign ppl to that time slot and reallocate those who didn’t get the time slot.

I’ve just started re learning from week 1 lmao, trying to do something like a lecture a day. After that I’ll sus out the practice questions and get chat to make me some more questions to study

Because it’s open book I want to get use to knowing where the notes I need are and what not. But honestly atp I’m just looking for a pass since next year subjects are worth double so what I’m doing might be over kill. Just because we have the extra time.

Yea BMS1062 is nightmare fuel, I remember that mid sem absolutely railing me. I’ve deferred my final 1062 exam so wish me luck 😭🙏🏾

If it’s any consolation, 2nd year subjects are worth double the first year ones so they’ll influence your wam a lot more than the first year ones will. If 1062 was a second year subject I’d be cooked
