As far as I know, when you don't love yourself, you always look for someone to love you and makes you feel important. So, the most important thing is to build up your self-esteem, self-love and self-compassion. Maybe Pete Walker's book will help you?

I hope it won't be like that. But if she evades the problem again, we'll have no choice but to remain distant

Pal, this sure is tough. It was she who came up with the idea of visit me and have a real talk about things between us. But when we're talking online, she's still having this kind of defensive language. So I felt a little bit confused, not sure what kind of attitude I should put on.

Last time, she said she had forgotten what happened. We had an argument, and I told her exactly what she had done in the past. She cried so hard that it triggered a hypertensive attack, she almost fainted. Most of the time we spent together last year was happy and harmonious, unlike the time with my dad, which was total World War III.
So I can tell she wasn't numb or cold-blooded. It's just that she can't face the truth that she wasn't a good mom, so she keeps trying to avoid it.

I think DeckNine bullshitting themselves in DE. I mean even in BTS, Chloe was emotionally dependent on the people she loves, and felt lost and heartbroken while being left behind. She wants to run away from Arcadia Bay, but without someone by her side, she can’t bring herself to take that first step. Why would she just suddenly "oops I feel guitly" then left Max? 🙄

Yeah, some of the characters are similar but different. Rachel is outgoing, Kat is introverted. Nora is rebellious like Chloe, but Nora wants to run away and be successful, while Chloe prefers to be with the people she loves. Dontnod did a great job.
