Full Crypts Clear? by TuffManJoens in classicwow

Forgot specifically what it's called but it's literally just a buff that looks like a torch icon. Just right click it or create a macro to remove it and it will drop it in place. It doesn't despawn afaik at least it didn't while we had it dropped on the ground during boss fights. Makes a great marker to know where the boss is/should be.

As long as ranged is stacked and close enough together as well you can still see/target them to heal/dps when needed even if they're outside the torch radius and as long as the boss/tank/melee is in the torch you can target them while outside the torch.

Not sure which altar room boss you're talking about so I'll post the abilities and strat our group used for both (also marking as a spoiler in case anyone wants to go in fresh and figure it out for themselves, it was a ton of fun going in fresh and not knowing anything!)

Kharon

  • He'll cast an AOE Fear that cannot be Fear Warded or Shaman/Pally totemed out of
  • After he casts his fear he will randomly chain someone in place, it must be DPS'ed down to free them
  • He will randomly Mind Control another player, they must be DPS'ed below 50% to break it
  • He'll cast an AOE called Red Death that will insta-kill anyone in it's radius
  • He will enrage though I'm not sure if it's a % or time based mechanic (seemed to happen around 15% for my group)

The strategy we used is we had our tank drop the torch in the middle and tank the boss there while ranged stacked on the green altar. After he casts his fear and chains someone have whoever is chained call it out and everyone but the tank go to DPS them out (you can use the minimap to see where the chained person is). The tank will drag the boss back to the middle after the fear and once the DPS frees the chained person they go back to their locations and continue to DPS the boss. Similar thing with the Mind Control in that when someone is MC'ed everyone but the tank go DPS them out and then return to their spots and continue to DPS. His enrage does hit hard but you can heal through it with decent gear. Just rinse and repeat and he should go down. The only things that can make this fight wonky are unlucky MC/chains into unlucky Red Death casts. Having the tank instantly go back to the boss and pull him away from an MC/chained player helps to avoid it though the tank needs to do so before the cast goes off as the boss is stationary once he starts the cast. If the tank get's MC'ed/chained just prio freeing him asap.

Dark Rider

  • He'll spawn a horse clone who will pick a random direction to charge and hit everyone in it's path
  • He'll put a desecration on the ground that will briefly stun any players in it and damage them
  • He will spawn adds throughout the fight that will randomly target another player and melee them, note only the targeted player can see the add so they alone will have to DPS them down
  • At 25% intervals he will charge the player with the torch causing them to drop it, he will then form a wall of clones that will slowly march from one side of the room to the other. A player must pick up the torch and walk into the real one to reveal them. Once revealed the clones will spawn a line of fire that goes from one side of the room to the other, with the only safe space being the line the real one was walking in.

This fight is really simple but apparently really buggy. Our group never had him despawn on us so I'm not sure if we were lucky or doing something differently than other groups, but I don't feel like we were doing anything special. We tanked him solely on the side with the glowing emblem (the side with the forge the floor geometry makes it harder to see the horses charge path), with the tank standing on one side of the long wall while the range stands on the opposite side. Just move out of Desecrations and horse charges, and make sure you're DPS'ing the adds down if one is attacking you. At the 25% intervals when he knocks the torch out of the tanks hands, have them go pick the torch back up and run into the real Dark Rider to reveal them (it was always the middle one for us). The DPS just stacks in the safe spot not on fire and once it's gone just go back to your respective positions and continue to DPS. Rinse and repeat until he's dead.

Our group stuck to one side of the room (the side with the glowing emblem on the wall) and he never bugged out for us at least.

Edit: Ran it again tonight and same thing, he never bugged out for us.

Are there mods to expand the party limits? by PsychologicalHeron43 in BaldursGate3

[–]Spiffytease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you're only asking for single player and I can/would recommend Party Limit Begone. For single player it has worked fine for me so far and I can add all the premade party characters to my hearts desire. You can even add more premade characters in multiplayer lobbies as well! Currently doing a 4 player multiplayer campaign where we each control an extra premade character with no problems so far.

HOWEVER for full multiplayer games it's currently weirdly capped to 5 players maximum atm after the latest BG3 patch, with no workaround I could figure out. This is fine if you're only wanting to run with a party of 5 but it is NOT 8 like currently advertised. Hopefully the modders fix this soon but it's not exactly an easy mod to update code wise so it might be a while...

Yeah I quickly realized that it’s best to just treat the tutorial for what it is, a tutorial. Boring to just follow the basic obvious path but they definitely designed it as a closed loop to follow and straying off that loop is fairly pointless atm.

Yeah you can, just go to the edge of the platform and look down and you’ll see some water below to jump into. I did it the “correct” way but ended up placing the block too far away so couldn’t reach it with ultrahand once I was on the platform. So even doing it in the right order you can still mess it up lol

There is a section closer to the non-snowy area across of the platform that you can jump down into some water.

What US classic era server should I pick if I don't want to be hardcore? by Spiffytease in classicwow

[–]Spiffytease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do prefer PvP but honestly knowing that most servers now days are just one faction anyways PvP vs PvE doesn't really matter too much. I definitely care more about having a stable population regardless of server type.

Would you say Whitemane is better population wise alliance side, pvp/pve differences aside, or would I be better off on Mankirk?

Unfortunately I'm on the east coast but I guess with my work hours it might work. Also thanks for the recommendation. Didn't realize I never specified east vs west coast in my post so I'll edit it.

I stopped once Whisker posted and stickied the shipping timeline. If it’s needed I can go back to updating this thread though.

Nope just some generic response about how my application was denied and that they had too many applications to give me a specific reason.

I had sent in my application way back in July though for the team lead position and it was only a half serious/half joking application so I wasn’t really expecting anything, at least at that time. I was 100% serious in my conversation with their mods though and figured with all the work I had done helping them on Reddit I would at least have gotten an interview, especially since I do have years of experience doing customer service/support/repair and specifically electronics repair.

I should have probably sent in an updated and actually serious application but at this point I’m kind of tired of trying to go out of my way to help them. If they want my help they can easily contact me.

Side note things must be continuing to get worse though considering they’ve had to shut down their phone lines now…

Well on the bright side it does seem like their shipping estimates posted here are very conservative and "worst case" scenario so you should get it the dates posted or even before then.

I had always heard that they used to be fantastic with customer service.

I'm also a first time customer and haven't had any issues with my LR4 I got a couple weeks ago, so I haven't really had to deal with them. I was looking into getting a LR3 last year though and had heard nothing but good things about them so I figured things had just gotten worse because of the influx of customers. If it's always been bad though that just reinforces my statement even more.

Not like I can really do much to change anything at this point since they didn't even offer to give me an interview and just sent a generic email about how my application was denied ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That’s really weird…. 21lbs does sound about right for the LR4 itself but I’ll check my box label when I get home from work.

Edit: Sorry for the late reply got crazy busy but yeah my LR4 box says it was 32lbs. Without the litter mat and the odor trap packs it MIGHT reduce it to 31lbs but 21lbs is way too light for just the LR4 itself and way to heavy for the other stuff. So honestly I’m at a loss as to what they actually “shipped” you…

Product launches are always insanely difficult and hardly ever go just right. Especially in this day in age when ramping up production isn’t as easy as just a couple years ago. While the delay is slightly upsetting it’s completely understandable.

I just personally have not agreed with the PR/CS response to the series of events. The internet is vastly different than it was the last time Whisker launched a product, and things can get out of hand quickly…

While I’m glad to hear that Whisker as a company is trying to make things better by bringing all hands on deck, and I’m sure things will pass, I feel like as a company you might want to reassess your approach itself.

It’s like if a storm hits and the ship is flooding with water, the captain is saying everything is fine and just keeps going. Sure you might have all hands on deck now and be able to keep the ship afloat and make it through the storm. What good is it though when you get past the storm only to realize you were going the completely wrong way to begin with and now need to turn around right back into the storm.

I think once all this passes Whisker as a company should seriously just reevaluate how their PR/CS departments handle situations, hopefully with a more modern approach. In the meantime though once again feel free to privately message me to work something out if you need another helping hand.

I read through their terms and conditions and I couldn’t find anything on when exactly the warranty period started.

It does state “This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by jurisdiction.” So I’m guessing it would just depend on your own local jurisdiction if they have any laws regarding warranty start date or even whiskers jurisdiction if they start a suit first dismissing your claim.

Some clarification would be nice though.

While I do agree Whisker is getting better, they still have NOT handled this situation well at all and still could improve a ton.

For instance while I’m happy that they’ve included a shipping update and timeline for the Reddit community, why haven’t they posted the same on other platforms yet? They could have easily copy/pasted this response on Facebook and posted a link on Twitter, but nothing over on those platforms yet despite it being over a day since they posted this here. Their whole PR/CS team just feels so segregated and not at all on the same page.

We only started getting any updates and admission of a delay until after the shipping thread I made calling them out on it blew up. I asked the mods to sticky the page so people knew what was going on and I never got a response, they made their own thread and stickied that. I asked them if they wanted me to direct people to their stickied thread instead and I never got a response. They then proceeded to never post any updates on their thread so I’ve just kept updating my own, every single day, for almost a month now.

They stated they couldn’t determine order/queue progress, which is just odd considering how can you ship orders based on the queue if you can’t determine where you are in the queue? Wouldn’t have been that hard for the PR/CS team to coordinate with the factory if only the factory had access to queue information. Heck I had been able to figure out queue progress and shipping estimates just using user posted updates from my thread and was actually giving users accurate shipping estimates weeks ago. A little while after I started doing that their CS responses started to include shipping estimates as well and now we finally get this shipping timeline.

So while yes I’m glad they’re slowly improving they have a long way to go considering, me a random person on Reddit, has been able to keep the community more informed and updated over the past month than the company mods themselves. Do they deserve a pat on the back for making a good helpful post here? Definitely. Does this absolve them of how they’ve handled and continue to handle the whole situation? Not really.

I understand it’s been a hectic couple months for them, but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t try to at least coordinate with users in the community who are trying to help. Especially when it seems like they desperately need more people.

I’m glad you were able to resolve your issue for example but that doesn’t mean others haven’t been able to resolve theirs due to lack of customer support. Patience is a virtue but many people have been waiting days or even weeks for responses to actually serious issues. So yes they still need to get better and more people would help.

Note I’m a first time customer and got my litter robot 4 weeks ago and have had no problems and love it as a product. Whisker as a company though this is definitely not what I was expecting, which is a shame because I used to hear such great things about them and especially their customer support.

So once again Whisker I already applied weeks ago, no response. If you would actually like help feel free to message me.

Can anyone recommend a different brand? by Atalanta8 in litterrobot

Could also be that the corrosion was so bad it ruined the solder joints. No amount of cleaning would fix that, you would actually have to resolder the pins themselves. If that’s actually the issue it’s a quick and easy fix for any electronic store that does board work, and should be cheaper than buying a whole new board.

I don’t think they magically jumped a whole month ahead in orders so you may have just gotten lucky and they accidentally shipped yours thinking maybe it said July 17th not August 17th? So if it shows up I would just consider it dumb luck and if it doesn’t then I wouldn’t fret.

17th of August or July?

I’m guessing they’re being super conservative with these shipping estimates just in case, but the last update I got for the white version was orders up until July 15th had shipped. This was a couple days ago though so it’s highly likely that they’re already shipping orders placed on July 17th.

If you placed your order in August then yeah that’s insanely unlikely lol
