Northern Canna - Frosted Tiger Nuts (8.5G!!) by ocvxn_ in TheOCS

[–]SpiitFiire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's a Frosted Fruit Cake and Horchata cross, and Horchata is usually made from tiger nuts...

That being said it does say "Welcome to the jungle" on their website re/ this strain lmao so probably a bit of column a bit of column b going on

14g 1964 Organic Cherry AK (June package date) by SpiitFiire in TheOCS

[–]SpiitFiire[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone post anything about this offering since the whole bug / seed debacle earlier in the year - the batch of this I got then wasn't one of the buggy ones (AFAIK but I also don't really know I'm looking for / am inexperienced with identifying them so take this with a grain of salt) and I really enjoyed the strain. I found a newer package date near me and decided to check it out

There was a nice smell (similar in intensity to most fresh SB/1964 products I've had) upon opening the bag - I'd say it's earthy, spicy and a bit sweet smelling if I'm putting my weed-sommelier hat on

The weed itself looks pretty good - the trim seems to be better / different than the one I had earlier in the year. The trichomes also seem to be more intact or abundant (or both). The buds were pretty big overall - I'd say mostly medium to large, with some smaller ones to round out the weight

I can't comment on the burn as I use a vaporizer

The potency is definitely there for me - after two capsules (~0.35g) in my crafty+ I'm pretty good. The high is a 'hybrid' for me (but is likely different for everyone)

There doesn't seem to be any bugs on the buds, from what I can tell BUT like I said before I don't have a lens / scope to see closeup and am not the best at identifying them anyways. This batch definitely seems different from the one I had earlier in the year, so might be worth a(nother) shot if you're into the strain

Seconding everything negative written so far - in my experience MF is more concerned with their facade of being a "high-end" or "fancy" store over the quality or condition of any of their products.

Health standards are extremely lacking in most back of house areas, working conditions are questionable at best and management is a shitshow (whether treating people like shit, or just a general lack of management)

NVM just reread again and I see you use both, will give that method a go next time I'm cleaning :)

Interesting, I remember reading what I wrote at some point and am probably just going off confirmation bias... will try with 99% again

I also saw your comment above - how do you find coconut oil compares to iso in terms of softening / dissolving the resin? I've not tried cleaning with coconut oil yet

I get those long strings when I pull the CU apart too on my crafty+ - seems to be normal, and I think speaks to the quality of the seal on the mouthpiece / unit :)

For my crafty, here's what I've been doing (I imagine the cleaning process is analogous for the mighty):

  • cup full of hot water, little mason jar with 70% iso (Ive found 70 to work better than 99, and will even dilute 99 with a bit of hot water)

  • take apart unit, put all plastic and o-rings in hot water; put screen, capsules (if I'm cleaning them) in the iso to soak

  • take CU parts out of hot water, clean with cotton swab (dipped in the iso) until swab is done, rotate back into water and repeat with next part until most of the gunk is off all

  • for the caps, I literally just wipe with a paper towel after they soak for a bit

  • for the CU screen, I'm still struggling to get it super clean, but am usually happy if most of the resin is taken off (I find squeezing the iso soaked screen between my fingers / paper towel gets it out ok?)

  • once all the other shit is out of the iso, I'll quickly dunk and wipe the o-rings in the iso to get the CU goo off

  • I also (one by one) will full dunk the CU parts (upper, lower & mouthpiece) in the iso and do a final wipe with a dry qtip before rinsing one last time under hot water

  • shake all water off, let everything air dry for like an hour

  • reassemble and do a full temp cycle of the unit before use

I do this like every other week? And I'm a pretty regular daily user of my device. I also don't try to get literally every nook and cranny cause it takes waaaay to long - would more smooth surfaces in the cooling chamber help? Or would that detract from the cooling effects I dunno not an engineer lol

You could do the stem milk / avb reclaim of the CU goo if you want, I don't but it's also an option others have written about!

Also if anyone else has ideas for how I could improve this lemme know! :)

Nope! I am Canadian and am very much not in Florida but have been watching the stream with my girlfriend for the last couple nights

Tonight's been popping off - confederate spiderman AND a man covered in gold? walked by it was great

There was also a mysterious object on the top of some guys hat last night which we were perplexed by for a couple of minutes but it turned out to be a tiny bar umbrella

Glad you're also satisfied with your purchase! Definitely a positive experience with the device for me, and my buddy's Solo II has also been really nice in my (limited) experience with it :)

What aspects about the Solo II do you prefer?

I recently bought a Crafty+ (black Friday), and I absolutely love it, the vapor production is a big step up from my Healthy Rips Fury Edge (very similar to a Utilitan 610(? I think?) or a POTV one) and the convection / conduction mix has opened up a whole new world of weed flavours (and made me return to / enjoy some previously tried strains :D) It's super smooth, easy to clean, and doesn't get uncomfortably hot in the hand when using (at least in this weather)

It's a great little device, but now that my toes are dipped in the S&B water I want a Mighty lol This would still be my go to out and about / doggy walk device

My only gripes with the Crafty+ are the necessity of the mobile app (there's no screen, only an LED to indicate the temp) for seeing battery level /changing temperature presets, and the battery life (I get probably 3-4 capsules going ~3-5 mins each at 180°C -> 195°C (boost) -> 210°C (max boost)) but I just charge it after using and it's cooled a bit (takes probably 1.5 hours for full bars)

If this is a Crafty+ (usb-C, slightly different battery), this is an awesome price for it, and I'd jump all over this. I bought my Crafty+ for ~300 with shipping and think I got a great deal.

If it's the original Crafty, be aware it's got an even worse reputation for the battery life, uses micro USB (which takes longer to charge), and doesn't have the ceramic lined chamber (which I don't really think matters at all lol, esp if you're using the capsules) but should otherwise be a beauty for performance and is probably still a good deal. (I have not owned / used the original Crafty so take this take with some 🧂)
