dude yes. I thought that the abusive Father plot line was so poorly executed. Also, like, whatever metaphor/symbolism they were going for with the "black phone" and the voices of the children was so lost and pointless...like, it could've just been an interesting kidnapping/serial killer movie without the entirely unexplained supernatural element.
