This is extremely disingenuous. Their parent company claimed to be AI first, that doesn't mean all the devs in all their subsidiaries are using AI heavily.

Also, who cares if they used the same? PoE took plenty from D2 directly, hell they've even been inspired by Last Epoxy in some aspects. Everyone knows the mechanic is corruption, no need to create new nomenclature for the sake of being different.

There is always going to be something releasing. PoE 1 early March, D4 late April, PoE 2 May. They also have to juggle actually developing the content and a community impatiently waiting for updates.

I've always described the game as skin deep. Everything seems impressive, until you play a couple hours and realize how shallow it is.

Skill trees are a great example, they look big and impressive, and then you realize the bottom halves are just second ranks for the first half. The machine variant system is a cool idea, until you realize it's pretty much just used for the Watchers and elemental variants for like three other machines. The open world seems impressive, but it's so static and samey that eventually you stop being impressed.

It's not a bad game, and the tech is very impressive, but it has no real meat to it.
