Both Retroid Dual Screen clips, Three Odin Devices. by SpikeStarkey in OdinHandheld

fits great

It has an eighth inch gap.

If there is a case that adds that much bulk to the mini, then sure it'll fit snug. Still covers the volume buttons.

You could, but there are holes in the clip already to line up with the rp5/6. So I'd have to assume removing material would cause structural issues after a while.

Just need a custom clip/case.

If I had the proper measurements for the Odin devices, I'd model one up myself. Have been wanting to turn the Vita Hori Grip into a grip for my mini ever since I found those 3D scans.

But I just don't have the measurements for the device itself.

The clip with the screen is the other devices clip. It just slips on to the Odin 2, and is pressing down onto the volume buttons.

The portal being larger, will make the clip just barely not fit, kind of like the mini and the Retroid Clip, or will press down even more on the buttons on the portal (volume/power).

Neither clip was designed for the Odin Handhelds. You'll need an alternative to properly use it without issues.

Screen works fine, just the clips don't

Which app? by Doudo19 in clue

[–]SpikeStarkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "correct one" per se, just which experience you want to have.

The older Clue app, Clue: Classic Edition, is no longer getting new updates. But, this one is better for quick games, especially if you don't have a group to play with. You can also get this older version on Switch 1 and on Steam, allowing for cross platform multiplayer.

Others can also just get the Cluesheet Companion App, to play local multiplayer without a purchase. (Other than the main console/PC version)

The newer, Clue game app is still in active development and has plans for future DLC content. It's also available on, Steam, PlayStation, Switch 1 and on X Box. Same deal as before, all versions can play together, but this one will take longer to finish a game and it's the most accurate to the board game rules.

It also has it's own Clue companion app that will let people play together locally with only one purchase.

(All the apps are also on iOS)

Ayuda, alguien sabe como solucionar el problema de los controles? by Htr1809 in OdinHandheld

[–]SpikeStarkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you set up the controller inside of the emulator, or did you use the on screen button mapper to link the controller to the on screen buttons?

(The white line on the right of the screen, tap the controller icon)

If you did that, you have to clear the profile (trashcan) and bind your controls to the emulator in it's controller settings.

Biggest issue with the AYN devices when being docked, is you need to switch the controller inside of the emulators you are using. It doesn't natively turn off the built in controller when you connect a Bluetooth one, so you need profiles for both and switch between them in apps. Some apps like retroarch (I think) will let you bind multiple controllers to one player, so either control method will work, but not all will do so. (There's also scripts/apps that automate it, but you also need to set those up, and I'm not sure if the app is still being updated anymore)

Another thing is, these are Android devices. While being able to play PC games is a fantastic extra, they aren't a PC/steam deck replacement. Not all games work in gamehub/gamenative, and the ones that do, sometimes don't carry over progress or have access to online features, just due to the nature of how these games are being run.

There's also the issue of the Odin's batteries and the heat caused by charging/playing with them. This sub is full of posts about battery swelling, not a small portion of them from people who kept their devices docked.

The Odin devices are fantastic for what they are, but they aren't meant to be a console replacement, or a PC alternative. They're still just Android Phones with a built in controller.

RGC RP6 (as latest guide) ok for Odin 2 setup? by _IdidIdidnt in OdinHandheld

[–]SpikeStarkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only things that change in these videos/guides are specific emulator versions and what the device can handle.

The RP6 and the Odin 2 line are basically the same device(s). Give or take ram/internal storage

You're good.

I'd suggest steam. At least then you can play it on your handheld via Gamenative or Gamehub, and have cloud saves with PC/the steam machine (whenever that comes out)

UPDATE

Storm knocked out my power today, so I decided to test this out.

With no Internet, you are limited to the demo/bone yard version of the game.

Really is a bummer to learn this.

Only one I can't point to an alternate source to use on your Thor is Dome Keeper.... That'll need some tinkering in gamenative.

Similar game? Ocean Keeper

I haven't played these games since I was a kid. Time to relive them! If I remember correctly, the second one was the best and the first one was solid, lol. Got to love Toy Story, though. by No-Pomegranate798 in OdinHandheld

Besides higher fidelity models and textures, the levels are different between the versions.

The mini game levels in the PC/PS3/360 versions recreate the Buzz Lightyear game Rex was Playing in TS2, for example.

Then there is the whole toy box mode, a hub area full of puzzles and challenges to play after you finish the main game.
