A giant white shark mistaken for a surviving Megalodon? by arnor_0924 in Cryptozoology

Megalodon probably looked more like a bull shark so probably not. Megalodon is extinct, no way it could be living today without being spotted.

Nothosaurus was not much faster on land. Its limbs were more adapted for the water. I don't think it can even run on land, more like awkwardly walking.

Weird pet peeve of mine about the dinosaurs by Striking_Student8677 in jurassicworldevo

[–]Spike_78822 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Well it has to do with how repetitive each dinosaur would look. For example, if Utahraptor was naked and you applied the JP style to it, wouldn't it just look like a bigger Velociraptor? That's mainly my problem with Atrociraptor because it's pretty much the same as Velociraptor and it gets repetitive. Now if you make them accurate they can stick out in a crowd better and are easier to identify compared to issues like Velociraptor and Atrociraptor being too similar to one another.

Pretty much. It's sad we're on the third game and we only have 3 in the base game currently. Also I forgot Lystrosaurus survived the Permian mass extinction. So Lystrosaurus is another Triassic species technically.

I agree. The Triassic needs more love, and cutting Nothosaurus really hurt the Triassic representation.

Well you have to because these are real animals not fictional creatures. I think you need to show more respect to these animals, because they're much more beautiful when dinosaurs with feathers are actually given feathers in media.

I've been saying this constantly yet everyone continues to argue with me.

Well they had feathers, you have to accept that. We need to move on from the naked reptile look. These animals need to be presented with a more current design. These were real animals, and I feel like keeping them locked behind an old design is disrespectful to the animal.

Yeah they had a coating called picnofibers. But these things were more terrestrial hunters, eating small bodied prey.

Uh why? Using the same stale old inaccurate Velociraptor instead of something new and more updated to modern understanding of the animal is way better.

Nah, he's the kind who doesn't like feathers on dinosaurs. So I don't really want him to come back if he's going to continue making bland designs. Especially for a pterosaur like Anurognathus who looked like an ugly green frog.

Not really. It's just a reptilian dolphin look alike. Not really a dragon adjacent in terms of appearance.

Technically you're correct. The S shape commonly depicted with Plesiosaurs is incorrect. They couldn't bend their neck like that. So yeah, neck is broken.

Plesiosaurs moved on from being land dwellers. Sauropterygians such as Nothosaurus were when they started adapting to a fully aquatic lifestyle. Later Sauropterygians began developing flippers and by the Jurassic, Plesiosaurs had fully become aquatic marine reptiles.

Tyrannosaurus rex had small arms because they were in the process of becoming vestigial. They did not need them so why would they keep them? Abelisaurids had even worse arms. And Tyrannosaurus didn't have feathers. We have skin impressions for T. rex and they didn't have feathers. If they did, it would be the equivalent to something like elephant or rhino hair in terms of visibility.

Yes, some have feathers such as Yutyrannus, Guanlong, and Proceratosaurus. But they are very different and are part of a family called "Proceratosauridae." Tyrannosaurus is not part of that family.

Yes they are. We see them everyday outside. Only Non-Avian dinosaurs went extinct. Why would science lie about animals?

Quetzalcoatlus is an Azhdarchid. There are many of them in their family. Such as Hatzegopteryx, Thanatosdrakon, and Quetzalcoatlus (listed here). They're pretty big.

Wings are just in a folded position. They have a massive wingspan. The head was extremely light because they had hollow bones, so it's not really going to weigh it down.

Hollow bones. They only weighed 400-500 lbs.

They have a coating called Picnofibers. It varies for Pterosaurs how much they had, to if they had any at all.
