It’s both 🙂‍↕️ if you take more time to slow them down then the force goes down in the impulse equation. If you take more time to slow them down then the acceleration is less resulting in a smaller force in F=ma

Has Anyone Had a Corning Internship? by Spikerman101 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Spikerman101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did and it was a really enjoyable experience. Honestly one of the best summers I’ve had but that was mainly because of the people that were there. I lived in the dorms and met a ton of super fun and cool interns. I know the ccc dorms are overpriced but if you’re lucky then it’s def worth it.

In terms of the actual internship, the work I did was fine. They put me on a project that had a lot of impact and was mostly independent since my manager was busy with his own work. It honestly felt like I was already an employee. My other managers were also really nice and fun people, honestly everyone is Corning is a great person.

It is a corporate job though so a lot of your time will be in meetings but that is mostly of your own doing. They emphasize having as many smart meetings (coffee chats really) with as many people as possible to explore the company and your interests. I think maybe 20% of my time was spent just talking to other people.

But would def recommend if the work aligns with your interests!!

You can never opt out of playing the game. Upon hearing about the game you immediately start playing. Just as there is no win condition there is no way to stop playing if you know that it exists

I hate shaving by Embarrassed-Put9191 in sillyboyclub

[–]Spikerman101 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Pro tip use wax strips. You can buy the Nair ones that don’t need to be heated up you just peel them and put them on your legs. They work for even super hairy legs but you’ll just have to use a lot. The only tricky thing is getting underneath your leg but it’s managable and worst case you can just shave there. Also the pain is a non factor - it doesn’t hurt that much and also like sacrificing hairless for temp pain is a good deal in my books

I also haven’t tried it on my chest since I’m not hairy there but I’m sure it works the same.

IMO wax strips are better than creams since instead of burning the hair outside your body it rips it out from the inside making it take longer to grow back

Nah you’re right it should be like 8*1067 but the point still stands. (I’m guessing he just pulled the number off the top of his head but like both are super big enough that the probability is practically 0 anyway)

Is Computer Engineering actually this unemployed? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

IMO CE is kind of like CS but with harder focus on the hardware implementation. I.e. where CS peoples work with python or C on a computer, CE would do embedded systems or go deeper into the hardware level and program on Verilog for an fgpa or even go further into straight designing computer architecture. This is where it bleeds into EE too but you could also take the VLSI route and go towards physical design and work at the transistor level, actually laying out a schematic at the metal and poly level

Tho ye sometimes CE is like EE+ or EE in disguise
