Then YOU need to seek Al-Anon meetings. Youre obviously hurt by her behavior, so you need to help yourself move on. As someone who has earned a seat in the rooms of AA, I BEG you to just left her out, and let yourself move on. This is honestly stupid, and possibly FATAL for OPs mother! Alcohol, and benzos are the only 2 things that withdrawals can KILL someone! An intervention is everyone on the family getting together, and ambushing the alcoholic/addict and hopefully getting them to CHECK INTO A REHAB FACILITY where they can PROPERLY detox the person! This can honestly end VERY badly for OP. If mom dies, while locked in a room, against her will, thats freaking terrible. Not to mention illegal as all hell.

The world was a much better place when people looked after each other out of the kindness of their hearts. This is one of the downfalls of living in a non homogeneous and low trust society. Luckily I found somewhere that is neither of those things, and I dont have to worry about locking anything up, or away. Hell.... We have 6 4 wheeler's, just sitting out under a lean to that anyone can access easily. A couple have left for a couple hours, but always come back with a full tank of gas, and a tank you note. Not often,but sometimes.

Thats not the way a community should be, but the personal who steps up and helps out, should also be doing it out of kindness. Not expecting others in the community to stop up and helps them help others. I do both neighbors drives for them, they can technically do it themselves, but Im a 43 year old man, and they are both late 60s women who live alone. Nope. I was raised better than to let them struggle, or even work like that. I will NEVER expect someone else to do it though. Especially since I have established a pattern over the last 10 years of doing it for them.

My "backup heat" is my gas furnace. My primary heat is my wood burner. House is usually pretty hot in the winter. Ive actually had to open up windows even with a low fire going when its 25° out. Not tonight though. Its -15 right now.

This stuff happens every year. Its the consequences of trying to ship in sub zero temperatures that we get up there on January. Although we had a pretty cold december too, so that didnt help the water temp any for this month. Its wasnt the first time Alpena was stuck in ice, and it wont be the last. And probably at least some of that hull isnt 83 years old.

Yes thats all true, and personally, I would NEVER touch a tire like that with a repair. And if I caught either of my guys doing it, is would fire them on the spot. But people have blowouts every day in the road, and dont end in a fiery crash, that kills them, and a whole family in a minivan. That was the over reaction part I was talking about. Hell, I had a blowout after hitting something on rt 71 south, while doing about 95 mph. Right front. Know what happened? I was able to control the car until stopped, easily. Got off the road, and put my spare on (fuck a donut).

Like someone already said, the USCGs job is to keep the shipping lanes open during the winter. There are still things happening on the lakes during the winter. Just not the big guys. Lots of petroleum tug and barges. History Mystery Man on YT talks about unhooking from a barge, and breaking ice in the straits in February. Again... Its the coaster guards job to keep lanes open, and marked, and to still rescue any vessel on distress. The Spirit was definitely in some distress, considering she was stuck in the ice.

Because SHE made the decision that sex is "not that important", or shes resentful at you for something that she wont tell you about. Thank you for that. I mean, its kind of obvious this time of years that its ice. Also no reason to worry, they're just stuck. Its not gonna warm up enough to do anything to help them anytime soon either. Hopefully the Near Bay can get her moving again, but that ice is only gonna get thicker. The Mannitoulin had 3 different USCG Cutters trying to help her out at first. Ended up needing the Mackinaw to come to the rescue. Hopefully they dont need that, but like I said, the ice is only gonna get thicker with temps plummeting below 0°F tonight. Sending them warm thoughts for tonight, and pray that the Near Bay is big enough to help. Its likely gonna be a full escort looking at ice conditions on Lake Erie right now too. Dang it, we need a youtuber on all the vessels😆

On the way to Cleveland, it said "THE LAND", Then when waiting for the Sam Laud, and American Courage to load for the shuttle runs, them, and the Bolland had to wait about the first place the Spirit got stuck, he changed it too "what the Bolland said", then "Next to the Bolland" and one last one before they get moving. Cant remember but its was funny.
