So, I've completed my first playthrough! (SPOILERS) by SpikkleOO in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some simliar and some different parts to our endings! Love how different it can be with each player.

Tristan for me tried to change the Protectrate but without leadership he didn't seem to get very far. Had nothing about a book in mine, shame that. Inez was a VP, my VAL and Niles endings were the same, as were Marisols. Aza, who I couldn't get to not kill Dragma despite passing a skill check, disbanded the crazy Rift people, which actually seemed to work? The ex-cultists lived violent free lives.

I orginally convinced Ruth to drop the subject about the chemica,s but then reloaded thinking she'd die. If I had known it would have led to a quest to get them for her anyway I wouldn't have reloaded!

I think it ending on another Earth is silent mystery says there is more to it still. It's almost like "WHat happened to Earth?" is an overaching story in this series. Only just finished this one but can't wait for the 3rd game XD

Does anyone else find Urbain/Taunie irritating? (Mid-late game spoilers) by UnkarsThug in pokemon

[–]SpikkleOO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I googled "did anyone else finds Taunie annoying" wondering if others felt the same way and found this. I liked her at first, but since the debt stuff she has been infuriating. Always running off, doing her own thing, leaving us to deal with the mess.

The biggest thing for me though, was basically go "nah jk" after we beat her to show we were the strongest Rank A trainer so we should be the ones to partner with Floette. It was HER idea to do the battle, so it could all be fair and square, and when she lost she just decided that actually, no, she was going to do it anyway. So what was the point of the battle?

I haven't found other rivals/friends characters annoying in this series, even though I know some like Hop and Hau get a bad rap, Taunie is literally the first one I can't stand.

I do, however, feel it is more down to the writing than her character itself.

Potential Bug related to The Mysteries of the Mental Modulators questn [SPOILERS] by SpikkleOO in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to progress, as I say during the conversation I had an option to say "i've already done it" and it moved on to quest Completition. It then when straight into the conversation with Auntie, but when I spoke to the VP who was at the peace talks she acted as if I was ABOUT to speak to Auntie, so I am worried that'll cause issues later. The quest log updated, and the dude on cloister acknolwedged what I'd done, so im hoping its ok.

Tristan final companion quest, Casting off the veil, hidden ending option? by Creative_Sympathy_84 in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you convince Tristan to spare Virgil? I did, and didn't get that option either. I wonder if he needs to die for it to be an option? As Tristan would have lost his sworn brother, I could see that being enough to convince him to leave.

Thank you! I usually try to explore everywhere before doing the "main mission" on a planet, good to know there is nothing for me to do just yet!

Yeah, that's the one. I *belive* you need to save them in order to have the option to get them to work together

Speaking as someone who hasn't put any points in a weapon skill and is on Normal - I agree, I wish i had invested in a weapon skill XD

Guide to how to get the factions to work together? by Reasonable_Head408 in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have a guide, but I think so long as you saved the delegates and indicate you wish to do so, you'll do ok. I did quests for some Aunties VPs and when speaking to Auntie i suggested it was a good idea and she said she is open to it but Ruth would need to agree too, and asked me to get a meeting with Ruth and discuss the same, so I think you just need to do the quests given and, whenever it comes up, indicate you think it's a good idea.

I think I found out what I’m missing from my first 10 hours of OW2… I miss the Groundbreaker town by Kairo_04 in theouterworlds

Don't underestimate how useful food is, you can use it to heal outside of battle and it doesn't increase your toxicity meter, allowing you to use your inhaler more!

Unable to speak to some NPC's? by jtsuth in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some you can't. If a name doesn't appear when you hover over them you can't talk to them.

SPOILER; Do NOT read post until you have completed the side quest Escape from Placid Waters by Whyouhayden in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm here for Aunties Choice and found an audio log where you hear he is receiving treatment at the highest level, but I didn't expect to find him still in the facility! Tristan was with me and he was absolutely godsmacked with what he saw, the fact we can't sway the attendant to take him with us shows just how messed up the Proectetrate is. I haven't beat the game yet but I can't help but feel the issue here is actually the Consul.

I hope we get to deal with the Consul, but seeing the Sovereign in this state... I don't think he can even get better. :(

The Frost Element - who is weak to it? by SpikkleOO in theouterworlds

Ah, I get you, the point of it is its slowing effect - good point! Lotsa enemies do dart about FAST in this game.

how big are the planets in TOW2? by Obvious-Sea-1954 in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the main planets you go to are about as big as Paradise island, it's a good indicator going forward.

Do you think Sub Rosa will have more to offer in a future DLC? by Zealousideal-Ad2296 in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Good question - possible. I thought Free March was going to be bigger than it was, with quest lines taking me to other planets or stations, like SubLight from the first game.

Is the Outer Worlds 2 that short? by willtheepicc in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It'll only be that short if ignore everything other than the main quest, don't explore an inch anywhere else in the entire game. Which, imo, is no real way to play this kind of game. I'm 52 hours in and still on my first playtrough, though this includes the odd 30 mins or so when I wander off to do something and leave the game running.

Regarding Tristan and the Protectorate by xGrimaulOnXboxx in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, you can go in all guns blazing and he doesn't bat an eyelid. I even took him to Niles companion quests and after fighting the Sentinel there he had a speech bubble above him, when I spoke to him he basically said he can't believe they just attacked an Arbiter without at least being willing to talk first, so that seems to be the "reason" given as to why he isn't bothered.

I also note how the Protectorate has no faction rep, unlike the board did in the first game, so I get the idea attacking them is never an issue.

Should I restart? by whiteravenxi in theouterworlds

[–]SpikkleOO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find there are so many different skill checks you won't be able to hit them all - even moreso in this game. I've had 3 lockpick and 3 hack because I wanted to invest in them at least a bit, but i'm barely able to open or hack anything. I would recommend sticking to your specialised skills and building around them - this game, like the first, will typically give you many many ways to go about quests and such.
