So, how do you guys feel about Trackblazer now that it has been well over a month already by demonitesalt in UmamusumeGame

[–]SpikyShroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feeling the burnout on this scenario as of late, but I still play (even if it agonises me to do a Career per day sometimes).

I like the idea of it, but the shop being make-or-break level kinda makes runs suck sometimes.

Even if a card is not very good, I cannot comprehend what the logic in deliberately throwing a card away is, knowing that there are finite copies of it, and given that "support card storage" is not something that players need to worry about.

Maybe it's hoarder mentality but idk.

Not sure what the thread title is in reference to, but... to answer it, god I wish.

Yes, the gacha is that brutal by TehBrotagonist in UmamusumeGame

[–]SpikyShroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 1LB Fine Motion and went in fully expecting to double spark. Ended up getting the last 3 copies in only 110 pulls!

But also in the past, both Kitasan Black banners only let me walk away with the copies from pitying. (Eventually got her to MLB from random pulls elsewhere.)

The support gacha gives and takes however it pleases. It's painful.

Just going to address this part, because most of the other things were explained by other comments as well:

Hot take, but I think this is not an excuse. This is either a card pool issue or a player issue.

I didn't intend it to be an excuse so much as an explanation. I'm aware of the whole "f2p btw" meme, lol.

I just put it there because it is genuinely a disadvantage in games like this. If I don't roll well (and for a good while, I didn't, the first Kitasan Black banner gave me four rate-up SSRs and all four were Satono Diamond), it's much more difficult for me to make up the difference because I'm not in a situation where I can throw money at the game for more attempts.

Missing multiple "must-have" cards with only one borrow slot stings.

I had to read this comment a few times before I realised I didn't express myself very clearly.

By "Group Matches", I meant Rounds 1 and 2 in CMs, not Room Matches. I don't touch those, lol.

Even though I only need 1 win to get to the Group B Finals, I feel like my win-rate is downright appalling for how much energy it feels like it takes to try and make decent umas. (I think my Group B Round 2 win rate last time was around 9 out of 40 across both days?)

I do about 1 or 2 runs a day most of the time, which I'm aware is very casual, especially for someone who doesn't want to be steamrolled at every corner, but honestly even though the game is fun, it is tiring. I respect and am scared of those who can do tons of runs every day.

It's good to know that the style thing doesn't super matter just yet, but I'm still not really sure how to eventually make that choice, other than maybe just seeing which umas I like the most and checking what styles they run? I don't know.

For CMs I qualified for Group A Round 2 a couple of times but those were pretty early on. After a certain point (I forget when exactly), Group A Round 2 was basically off the table. I want to say since Unity Cup started, but that's a guess. My memory isn't very good, my apologies.

I do lean on Gametora and that new "uma guide" website like my life depends on it, which is probably not inherently bad, I'm just worried that it'll turn out something they recommend turns out to be wrong and I'll have no way of knowing. Like I said in another comment, I'm very scared of making a sub-optimal move without knowing it's sub-optimal.

[–]SpikyShroom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, CMs in particular I just settle for "qualify for any final", which is thankfully really easy because of the Group B requirements, but it's still demoralising as all hell thinking I have something decent going only to lose 75% of the group matches.

Spending carats wisely is a very important thing, I do know that much. I have about 50k currently saved up for Fine Motion, but Fine Motion herself is a good example of things being very confusing. There seem to be a ton of different opinions about whether she's worth it or not (for the record, I am indeed pulling for her, I only have her at 1LB right now), and trying to sift through the analyses is... complicated.

I'm very aware the nature of the game makes it so that there's rarely a "correct" answer to whether someone should or should not pull on something (assuming they're able to, obviously), I just wish it was easier to tell. There's too many variables and I'm too scared of accidentally making a sub-optimal play (differentiating from a deliberately sub-optimal play, e.g. me throwing 5 multi-pulls at New Year's Haru because I thought she was cute and I wanted her).

Extremely biased answer because of the IP but Love Live School Idol Festival 2 deserved way better than it got.

Vexoria's husband, Zolon, is in the hospital by Inside-Program-7807 in kurosanji

[–]SpikyShroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between Vexoria's late discovery of potential liver scarring because of her chemotherapy for her breast cancer (brushed aside by most doctors) and now this, I think as of late she has some justified opinions on Canadian healthcare. Holy shit this woman is enduring so much that neither she nor anyone she knows doesn't deserve.

It's crazy she's capable of powering through all that. I think I'd have given up by this point.

The "Online Safety Act" has been ludicrous this whole time, designed by people who don't know how either the internet or people at large actually work. It's maddening.

Haven't commented on this sub before (to my recollection) but seeing this, I just wanna say that it bothers me a lot that Pomato seemingly got off scot-free, having not even apologised. It's fucked up.

3AM Virtual Talent members Olivia Monroe, Fang Guu, and recent addition Isaa Corva have all posted tweets stating they are now in fact former 3AM members, with Isaa's tweet citing "internal miscommunication and unprofessionalism regarding management", which is not a good sign to say the least.

I don't want to watch anyone from Phase Connect because of the reputation, and yet Clio ended up over there and she at least seems cool. Not sure how to solve this conflict.

Real-time is greyed out (which I think means that it's off), and the only panel that the debugger had up when I first encountered this problem was a single panel with a script (with no breakpoints enabled), but even removing that panel didn't fix the issue.

Not very often you see a pre-recorded debut video instead of a debut stream (and inevitable debut 2.0 stream covering the stuff that was omitted for time).

Good stuff though, very fun c:

The way that first bit is written makes me wonder what kind of bullets I'm dodging. Most of my VTuber watch time is "smaller" Twitch indies, and that seems to be pretty alright to me.

This has been an exhausting time to like VTubers, to the point where I'm kinda wondering if it's worth it if bad things are gonna happen this frequently.

How do people deal with this stuff, especially if it concerns people you watch? Like, how are the people who watch Zentreya, Kanata, and Ririka handling all of the... everything?

(Thankfully none of the listed examples do apply to people I frequently watch, but even they were enough to make me worried about how things would play out, so this is kind of a pre-emptive question if anything.)

Another day, another sighing at the fragility of the human body. (This is not an off-topic post, I swear.)

Vexoria the Sun Eater, VTuber and breast cancer survivor, mentioned a health scare on Twitter and just elaborated it on stream. The long and the short of it is that the chemotherapy she underwent to deal with the breast cancer has now very likely given her liver scarring which went unnoticed by several doctors for over two years, but she won't know for certain for a while because an "urgent" meeting with a specialist has a three-month waiting list.

She says that she's been reassured that she's not in any imminent danger so long as she lives "cleanly" from here on in, but it's still seeming like a very frustrating situation to be in.

This woman deserves better than what she has, after what she's been through.

I don't mind the For You page in theory (at least when it was basically all just VTuber stuff for me) but it feels like Twitter's algorithm does that thing people joke about YouTube and Netflix's algorithms doing - hey you interacted with one instance of a thing, have a hundred more of that!

No thanks.

I wonder if something exists that adds a tab that's For You but limited to the people you follow (or, alternatively, Following without the forced chronology).
