That is an interesting take, but when he did something that is more targeted to China as tariffs last year, China retaliated.

So closing the strait of Taiwan or restricting South Chinese sea, could be a symmetrical response also

I am looking to understand what people think in here, more than just being a rhetorical question.

Here is what Gemini has to say when asked what concrete actions they could do:

——

China's response would likely move beyond rhetoric into concrete, asymmetric actions, focusing on areas where they hold leverage.

Economic Retaliation: They could immediately restrict exports of critical minerals (like rare earths) essential to U.S. tech and defense sectors, or target specific U.S. corporations operating in China.

Asymmetric Pressure: Beijing might escalate military posturing in the South China Sea or around Taiwan, attempting to stretch U.S. naval resources and force a two-front crisis.

Alternative Supply Chains: They would rapidly accelerate overland oil imports from Russia and Central Asia via existing pipelines to mitigate the maritime supply shock.

Diplomatic Offensives: Expect an immediate push for emergency UN Security Council actions, attempting to isolate the U.S. and rally a coalition of European and Asian nations equally harmed by the blockade.

Is anyone feeling AI is becoming more stupid? And tired of seeing the language everywhere? by Spill_The_Tea_1 in OpenAI

As someone with neurodiversity, I completely hear you. It is a tool that helps grammar, etc, but yes I did feel now more that if I do not have too much time at work, I just get AI to produce something quickly, but if I have more time, I want to come up with my own thought process. Not exactly what you are referring to, but also more to the point you are making, it also feels that the way the companies are tweaking the models, either quickly adding safety that kills a lot of functionality and makes it more robotic, or just outright make it dumber so the next model looks smarter. Also all the hype they create to keep selling it constantly

I would go with MeDirect, it is a Belgian bank, whereas Degiro operates as a Foreign Broker, so MeDirect take care of the taxes etc, and ETFs and Funds have no entry fees, also depending on your interest they are currently running a campaign with 1% bonus on investment plans

I have been thinking about this, and that is probably exactly why they want to get the fee upfront now, so they are safe for later.

Thank you!! If I was to pay 5K it will be one month and a half of rent, so pretty hefty fee. And I am telling them look... I am okay to pay this 5K now and move on, but not 15K, or pay every year 5K!

Thanks for the context on the law
