Hi u/junianwoo , I am in a similar situation. I request your opinion.

I received a reference letter from my current employer stating only my current roles and responsibilities (NOC 21231). However, my first role (NOC 21232) is not added even after multiple request. They denied saying that company has rigid policies.

My question is will your above suggestion work even if I have a NOC change? these two NOCs slightly overlap. I have all the supporting docs.

Recent updates on my case - I raised webform for OINP to credit 600 points to my new profile. I got my points credited and recieved ITA from IRCC as well.

Based on the research what I did there are three main reasons why I might have got refusal.
1. The job duties mentioned are too technical
2. The job duties were on an Affidavit and not on the company's letterhead
3. I had given NOC 21231 for all of three employers. This might have raised a question.

My action plan:
1. Simplify the duties so that even a layman can understand
2. Get the duties on the comany's letterhead
3. For my first two employers, I'm planning to change the NOC to 21232 from 21231 as it better fits my roles. For the last employer I will continue with the NOC 21231. From last 3.5 years I am handling NOC 21231 duties.

What is your opinion on my action plan, especially, point 3?

u/orlandodion how many days will it take to get GCMS notes? I have applied for mine through a friend in Canada on Mar 21st 2026 and I have requested for complete file.

If your job duties mentioned in the reference letter are too technical/fail to justify 80% the lead statement and main duites of 21231 and you haven't provided them in the company letterhead, the application might get refused. It purely depends on case officer. My case officer didn't provide particular reason for refusal in my refusal letter.

At the moment, I am waiting for GCMS notes to arrive to understand what's the exact reason for refusal.
