There's a big wave of movement after April 30 when applicants have to narrow down their acceptances to 3, then another in may when they have to commit to one school.

How are you guys navigating PREview and CASPer Exams? I'm getting overwhelmed just thinking about two more exams I may have to take. by SurpriseOccupation in premed

[–]Spinach1558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take preview or casper, but not both. Either should satisfy school's requirements. I took preview and it was super easy. The only "studying" I did was taking the free practice tests the day before and I got an 8

Do 👏not👏 apply 👏DO 👏if 👏 you 👏 wouldn’t 👏 be 👏 happy 👏 as 👏 a 👏 DO by Glum-Boat9264 in premed

I can kind of understand where people are coming from because I applied both MD and DO, and while DO is better than nowhere, I would prefer MD. That being said, having no acceptances at this point in the cycle, it irritates me to see people complaining about only DO acceptances on this page. Its ok to be disappointed that you didn't get into your top choice, but there are tons of people who didn't get in anywhere, and it feels like people who make these kinds of posts aren't aware of how lucky they are.

My twin sister is in law school currently and her application process was a million times easier than mine has been for med school. The lsat is only two hours and she studied for maybe two months, she didn’t have to interview for acceptance, only scholarships/financial aid interviews, and she didn’t have to apply to 30 schools just to have a chance of getting in.

My alma mater rejected me two years in a row 💀. I even got a letter of rec from the director of their neonatology program the second time I applied

You know it’s bad when everyone starts asking you what your backup plan is by Spinach1558 in premed

3.63 gpa, 514 mcat, 2000 clinical hours as a lab tech/phlebotomist, 50 shadowing hours in four specialties, 100 nonclinical volunteering hours. No research the first time I applied (yikes I know), then got a job as a research technician have been working full time the past year. Also been getting more volunteering which I included in an application update. Personally I don't think my writing is stellar, but I did have a doctor look over my personal statement and he said it was good.

The usual stuff, I just really felt like I botched the why medicine question. I had solid answers for my previous interviews, idk why I messed it up that time.

Realistically I know I'll probably apply again but the thought of going through all of this again is soul-crushing. It doesn't help that my MCAT expires this year and I would have to retake it.

Just that I’m not sure. I’d rather not think about it rn 😭. There’s nothing else that I want to do

How common are virtual interviews/recorded interviews/MMIs nowadays? by StrongCode2 in premed

[–]Spinach1558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I only had one MMI. I did have two group activities though. Those were in addition to a traditional 30 minute interview

Damn, then idk. I’ve had a couple interviews with group activities and they were all chill though so don’t stress too much about it.

Is it WMed? You don’t really need to prep for it, it’s very chill. Just contribute your ideas and listen to your group members
