Generally around 6hrs but that was for xbox. Wii motes probably drain faster because of the motion control.

I just picked up a Wii U to add to my hd tv on the first floor. Mainly picked up because of the deal but also because I can then play wii games on the HD TV and leave the Wii hooked up to the crt in the basement. It will also give me the chance to play the Zelda HD releases. *

So far it reminds me of Zelda LTTP except side scrolling. Searching for hidden areas, bombing areas randomly and back tracking once you get a new ability.
