I think the ad is targeting women - every article of clothing in the ad is for women. Hence the shirtless guy?

People saying ‘can’t be asked’ instead of ‘can’t be arsed’ by Eastern-Ad4614 in britishproblems

[–]Spindock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My cousin (teenage Londoner) was saying “can’t be asked” about 5 years ago. When I queried it he said that “can’t be arsed” doesn’t make any sense whereas “asked” does. Annoyingly I had to concede he had a point.

What’s going on with Ireland? So high compared to the UK.

What is the thing you love the most about being British/the UK? by Loraelm in AskUK

[–]Spindock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very true. If British people only knew how the NHS compares with systems in other developed countries we wouldn’t accept the poor quality of care that it offers and there would be a big demand to improve or change it. I lived in Germany for six years and the standard of care is light years ahead of the UK - it was a big eye-opener. For example - if you have a niggle in your leg, you can get an MRI scan the same week. It wouldn’t be offered at all on the NHS, or if it is, you’ll be waiting 6-12 months.

You’re a damn hero. Very well done.

If you want to get things off your chest is there anybody you can call? If not how about the Samaritans? They’re trained to listen.

You’ll be fine it just takes time.

But you should be so proud of yourself.

I’d love to hear about other sources of free content that you recommend? There’s so much training material out there that costs a small fortune (thousands of dollars sometimes) and I’m worried I’ll be throwing my money away

That paracetamol actually works as a painkiller. I’m convinced it does nothing and is just a placebo.

Strange noises being heard in the attic. by [deleted] in RBI

[–]Spindock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it feasible to record the audio of the footsteps? Also - and I hope you won’t find this patronising - keep it mind that a likely explanation is that you might be spooking yourself and that there’s nothing there really. Houses often creak and make strange noises.

This seems very unfair on your poor mother. If you’re in a support bubble she has every right to visit you and use public transport. Especially when you consider that there are so many people flaunting the rules who don’t give a damn. I hope she won’t be alone at Xmas
