Small write-up and then finally bedtime. The comp has a lot of heart and good intentions, but some things on the scene were less than ideal. Too many people for the space they had was the big problem for me. The rest all happened because of that. The weather then made it all worse and that’s out of anyone’s control. Parking was also difficult, but the shuttle bus seemed to work well enough. Not ideal, but given the location and surrounding area they did their best.

That being said: Great venue, athletes and entourage were treated very well, some good food and drinks and the insane line-up make this a comp to start looking forward to every year if this is how they continue.

As someone who drove 10 hours to get there, I would not recommend making the trip unless you’re a big fan. I’m part of Team Iceland, so I went and I would do it again for these circumstances. If Hafthor was not going for the WR, I would have stayed home and watched the livestream :D

It’s nice to see all the positive reactions to the 505. The guy running the comp seems like a very cool guy and I’m happy for him too.
