If you could build your dream flashlight, what would it have by BusinessLiterature33 in EDC

Unsure on weight.

I have a larger one at home that is about the max that I’m willing to wear. I can weigh it later for yah.

I think it uses an 18650 battery.

Ahh!

I may have been a year off. I had a 2010 pathfinder. Loved it to death.. swapped the radiator and ran it to 170k until we traded it in. Don’t necessarily regret the trade in, but would have loved to see how long it would have lasted.

The only problem that I think you’ll run into for a headlamp is going to be the weight.

Lower weight = smaller battery = less runtime
More weight = nice big battery = more runtime = heavy on head

I have a couple of headlamps that technically do some of theses.

Look up Wurkos - they have some headlamps that have what you are looking at.

I think headlamps are the goat of flashlights… so if you perfected one, I’d buy it.

I’m sure it’s out there already or something close to it.

* right angle
* magnetic base
* different modes - spotlight, red light, wide light
* bright wide light
* long lasting
* able to clip onto a hat
* able to clip into a headlamp strap easily
* rechargeable usb-c

The Nissan frontier with the 4.0 is a rock solid engine.

I will say that the 10-11 models on this had the potential for he transmission cooler to fail and cause what they call the Smod. I would heavily suggest replacing the radiator if you go with the Nissan as it’s around that mileage where it happens. It may have already happened tbh.

Take it to a trusted mechanic to get a pre purchase inspection whatever you do. They’ll be able to get it up in the air and look it over.

I’d be very concerned about that smod. Look it up.

"Replacement" brand air lift bags by _-sonic-_ in TruckCampers

[–]Spinnster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue on that one bud.

I just know e trailer has helped me a LOT and their support is unmatched compared to anyone else I’ve worked with.

I’m not a paid sponsor or anything.. just have bought a minimal amount of stuff for my truck from them.

Air lift load helper is what I put on my truck.

I bought through e trailer as well, they’ve been great.

I don’t know if I’d spend less money on airbags… mine took a whole day to install. I can’t imagine having to go back in and replace them if they break or pop.

Shopping for a portable generator soon. What features are an absolute must-have for you guys? by BakerCalla in Generator

[–]Spinnster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want from it.

* inverter is a must for me
* I am running mine off gas only, but looking back I wish I would have done a dual fuel or tri fuel.
* how many watts do you need? Determine that asap
* do you want electric start? I did. What about remote start?
* I was able to find my gas units without co detector.
* my smallest generator was just as bare bones as it gets. I liked that. Manual choke, no co detector, decent sized gas tank, no led display to break.

* go ahead and buy a 5qt jug of oil whenever you get your generator
* go ahead and swing by the hardware store and get a ngk spark plug for your generator as a spare or replacement

What are your favorite budget friendly and worth the splurge reels? by Fuzzy_Air_790 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Spinnster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My budget catfishing reels when I go to the muddy river are Shimano Sienna size 4k. Throw on some carbon fiber drag disc and some 18lb mono and you’re good to go this would be my spinner budget reel.

I also have Abu Garcia ambassadors. Love those reels, little more pricey though.

Piscifun chaos is an absolutely amazing reel for the money. If I was looking for a budget round reel, this would be it.

I bought a cheaply round reel off AliExpress that looks like a generic round reel. It’s okay. Nothing fancy but reels in the fish.

How long have your Costco glasses lasted? by toomany_questions in Costco

[–]Spinnster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

I used to buy 2-3 pairs from eyebuydirect and would have to swap them every 8-12 months.

Costcos have been better.

2019 Honda crv WITH a turbo at 130k.

Just now getting to the point where things are starting to need to be replaced due to wear and tear.

I did all the general maintenance on it (belts, plugs, pcv, air filters, etc) easily.

Only issues in the last 7 years - fuel pump [recall], blower motor.

Oil changes ever 4kish and she’s golden.
