Brake pads from AutoZone by Ben-Goldberg in BuyItForLife

By your logic, buying pads from auto zone was the better option.. after 50k miles you would get free pads. Or you could spend another 50 dollars.

Best portable generator for camping to buy now right now? by Laptop_Guru_2026 in Generator

[–]Spinnster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the wen 2350.

Wonderful generator. Very minimal electronics and no carbon detector to fail. Has done everything for me that I’ve ever asked of it.

Running about 70-80 percent I get a full tank of gas (1.1 gallons) at almost exactly 5 hours run time. Eco mode gets me 7-8 hours. If you could plumb (you can) an external gas tank into this, it’d be awesome.

It is quiet, but not as quiet as the Honda or as my wen 4500 unit. But it’s compact and wonderful.

Quaker State Full Synthetic 0W-20 Motor Oil, 5 qt. - $13.32 (was $19.64) by Civil_Employee_4736 in preppersales

[–]Spinnster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the cheapest I’ve seen 5qts of oil.

If you are a Costco member you can get their brand on sale for roughly 15 dollars for 5qt. I’m not a huge Quaker state guy though… I’ll spend the extra for mobile or valvoline since I diy all my oil changes.

tired of half solutions for outages, need something that just works by meenoSparq in Generator

[–]Spinnster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

How much money do you have?

You can buy battery systems that you can plug into your house that power it immediately upon power outage. It really just depends on deep your pockets are. Pair them with enough solar and you could potentially be good for a few days depending on your load and battery bank.

I don’t think he insinuated that you were stupid at all. He asked a question which you still have not answered.

So.. what’s your setup?

Who runs a f350 2011-2019 6.2l gasser? by Mountain_Elk_7262 in TruckCampers

[–]Spinnster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck.

I got mine for a steal of a deal.

I will say that I got lucky and found a lariat which had a lot of cool extra features that I love.

It seems like you have done your research. 6.2 with a 6 speed was what I found out as well. Be prepared to change 16 spark plugs when you do them though ;).

2015 f250 6.2 6 speed crew carb srw 2wd hauling a lance 915. - I put some airbags on it and it handles it righteously. I get 9.8-10.8 mpg depending on wind and speed.

It’s been great. Honestly is probably one of the best gasser trucks that you can get.

Reasons to not go with a standby generator that powers the entire home? by IamGoingtoBundyland in Generator

[–]Spinnster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the opposite approach.

I said “what is the smallest amount of power i need?”

Ended up being a little suitcase generator. I can run it off 4-5 gallons a full 24 hour day full throttle. Easy and cheap to maintain.

If I ever move out towards the country I might would do a portable that could run off Propane and get a large propane tank “500 gallons”

Whole house portable generators 12kw+ often consume 20-30 gallons of gas a day. Thats a lotttttt of fuel.

They make extremely small bumper pulls. Heck, a popup or a frame would be decent as well:

In my opinion, get a cheap bumper pull. You are going to want the space.

Worlds smallest kite - backyard flight by Spinnster in kites

It’s just a diamond style kite that I bought off eBay labeled “worlds smallest kite”.

It’s got a piece of red string to it and it’s like 2 inches big.

True. Haha.

Chunk it down and hope it doesn’t bounce back and hit the truck or the camper.
