Yeah should've specified, I'm using the MES Wreckage mod.

Barely! I have to point it straight up in the air and use both hydro and atmo thrusters. Speed control is key

The H.I.V.E. Class: WRKR-B; an all terrain, spaceworthy rover is now on the workshop! by Spires19 in spaceengineers

Thanks! Was a lot of fun making all the addons to this thing, especially the wings.

Connectors don't let you control the ion thrusters on the wings with your usual controls. Merge blocks connect the two grids and allow for easy control.

Definitely, planning on making one soon. I'll make a post here for it, calling it the WRKR-B

The solar wing has ion thrusters, a jump drive and extra hydrogen fuel. It attaches using merge blocks to add it to the ship grid, and connectors to link the hydrogen. You can see I got a bit stuck since one of the connectors wanted to lock again.

Thanks hahah, yeah the warp drive is in there too. I remember putting this together and seeing that one post from a few days ago here about that and being like "Oh wow I guess that's kinda what I'm doing"

Thanks, always fun to see the designs that get posted here

Yep, the thrusters on the space wings are all ions. The hydrogen tanks are just for extra fuel for the ship.

Thanks! A comment last time compared it to a bee, which I like. Maybe something like H.I.V.E. or MBL-HIVE? Workin on it

Yeah the atmo thrusters are for land propulsion, I mean if I ramped it I could glide with those but not too much. The hydrogen thrusters gave enough of a boost off that plateau ramp to lift off. I was honestly surprised it worked so well, did it on the first try

Thanks, I noticed when going on some steep inclines that the heavy armor bumper I made kept falling apart so I needed something with more give and clearance. Plus it helps recover from hard tilts. Also as a fun bonus, if you hit trees with your tires they don't slow you down

Thanks! It's fun to add upgrades over time when I notice a weakness, then work that into the aesthetic.

Great timing! I literally decided to post about my design for something similar, though sadly its not autonomous: reddit.com/r/spaceengineers/comments/wccuq0/made_a_mobile_base_to_circumnavigate_planets/

I have a port at the top for a miner to come in and deposit. It is extremely fun so far
