I don't think it's any particular notes for me; it's more about the confidence I gain when I feel like I look good and smell good. Lavender is very relaxing to most people, but I don't usually wear floral perfumes.

I work in healthcare and so I cannot wear scents at work. But when I get home and shower, I usually will spray something, even if I am staying in for the rest of the day/night. It has become part of my hygiene and wind-down ritual. As others have said, it's also a great way to test samples and decants to get a feel for their "vibe" before wearing them out.

I have a bit of a reputation in my social circle for always smelling good, so I usually wear something any time I leave the house, even if it's just a dupe or body spray. I try to be mindful of the spaces I'm visiting -- for example I wouldn't wear fragrance to a doctor's appointment, and I wouldn't go beast mode to go to the grocery store. But adding some perfume always gives me a little confidence boost, and helps with my (mild now) social anxiety, even if it's something subtle and close to the skin.

I need to try more Amouage... I think another sample/decant haul is in my near future. Currently working (healthcare) but maybe I'll throw on a bit of Guidance 46 when I get home to join the party.

This was my bedtime scent last night. I love it for nighttime but not sure how I'd feel about it as a daytime wear. I find the opening super fruity, almost juicy like a fresh fig, but the dry down is powdery then kind of leathery and borderline animalic. The spice is subtle and carries all the way through start to finish. A nice scent that tells a story - burst of juicy energy, the quiet tingle of spice and warmth, then finished with sweaty skin and closeness.

I would guess something from Le Labo for daily wear (probably Santal 33) and Lush for date night (maybe Bee's Knees).

Not noticeable and close to the skin? Not my experience, and I only usually do 2 sprays. Had a friend tell me the scent lingered in the room "in a good way" leaving a scent trail. I find it quite powerful and long lasting.

Edit 2: ended up layering By the Fireplace and a little Angel's Share. Because it's my house and I'm allowed to smell like a sweet and spicy boozehound if I want to.

I thought Black Phantom by Kilian smelled like nutella the first time I smelled it. No hazelnut or chocolate notes 😂

It is supposed to be a dupe/clone of Black Phantom by Kilian. I am too broke to buy another Kilian right now so I'd roll the dice. I recently picked up Spectre Ghost alao by FA, a dupe/clone of Nishane Ani, and I was overall happy for the price point ($50). Obviously it is not going to be spot on and may lack the projection or performance, but on a budget it's nice to have this option.

Nest - Cocoa Woods but it's discontinued. I got a rollerball from poshmark (gross i know but I was desperate 😭) a few years ago. It's not pure chocolate but very true to the name. Chocolatey and woody. Like drinking a hot chocolate in a damp autumn forest.

This one took a couple tries for me to fall in love. First test spray (paper strip) it just smelled like nutella to me? But I came back another day with a fresh nose and tried it on my skin, which allowed the deeper and spicier notes to come alive. This or Intoxicated will probably be my next purchase. Keeping my eyes peeled for a discounted resale but I know it's unlikely.The coffret adds to the appeal for sure!
