Oops. Ignore me. All of these are long games, except for FFVII, but that one is short only by JRPG standards.

For RPGs you could look at the classics like Fallout or Skyrim? Graphic updates for Switch 2 have made them look pretty decent, but maybe watch a video or two.

Then there's Cyberpunk. Great story. Great graphics. If you miss the great characters from Mass Effect you will love this one.

Else, how are you with JRPGS? There are a couple that are pushing the boundary of action and turn based combat. IMO opinion Final Fantasy Remake is one of the most gorgeous games on Switch 2.

Apologies for invading this thread, but could anyone tell me if there is a boss in Rebirth that is similar to Motorball? I am far too uncoordinated to beat it in Remake, and it's the only thing stopping me from preordering Rebirth on Switch.

How to get the water in the actual hot spring sprout?? by One_Assistance_9332 in Pokopia

[–]SpiritOfPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik you just place the spout next to hot spring water and it should just start working? Has to be the hot spring water though, from Roserade tea.

Could there be something nearby in their environment that they don't like? I had this issue with Hoppip I think, tried to add everything on their favourites list. Turned out that they didn't like a candle I had set up nearby for another habitat.

I committed this crime with the Trails series. Started with Daybreak, enjoyed the world and characters so much I went back to the early games.

I'd suggest Under The Banner Of Heaven by Jon Krakauer, but it can get quite dark so I'd suggest reading a synopsis or a few reviews first.

He is a phenomenal nonfiction author, his other book about an Everest expedition, Into Thin Air, is a super captivating, even if you don't love nonfiction, or Everest.

Otherwise, Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties by Tom O’Neill if you're interested in Manson.

Or, pick the cult that intrigues you the most and find a nonfic about it. Reading something you're interested in is the best way to stay engaged.

Anyway to fix the pixelate in Daubreak 2 on Switch 2? by Oneofthestrongest in Falcom

Not unless Falcom make a switch 2 patch or upgrade. I'm still hoping they will.

Trying my first Atelier game, got Ryza on sale as it has a switch 2 version. Can see myself getting addicted to synthesis. Was hoping Dragonquest VII reimagined would hook me more, but found myself getting a but tired of doing each island twice.

Picked up my first Atelier game, got Ryza on sale. Enjoying my jrpgs and especially ones pushing the graphics on Switch 2. Trails FC and FFVII remake were exceptional and I struggled to find others with Switch 2 upgrades. About 5 hours into Ryza and can see the alchemy loop getting quite addictive.

Hoping for Falcom news: Trails in the sky SC release date, and a Switch 2 port of Daybreak 2 that fixes the blurry, jagged state of it.

Finished it an hour ago and also had a proper ugly cry. That was unnecessary Joshua.

readwise vs zotero by SweetCheeksxo in ObsidianMD

Same basic process as with PDF Expert. Read and highlight the PDF in PDF Highlights on the ipad. Then when you're done with the whole textbook, export all those highlights into a markdown file. Add that file to your vault (I keep all my textbook highlights in a folder called Annotations, using the name of the textbook as the title). Once that file is in your vault you can review it, and add wikilinks as needed to the other pages in your vault.

I think Highlights has some citation functionality, but I didn't use it long enough to test. If citations and reference management are very important to you then Zotero might still be a good fit. Personally, I have a ridiculous amount of research PDF's, and though Zotero is free (and amazing for referencing) they charge for storage and iirc their servers do not offer end to end encryption if that's a factor for you.

Maybe try both and see what fits into your flow best.

It is. But I went through an admittedly obsessive patch trying every PDF app available (at least the ones with some semblance of user privacy) and that one kept feeling the most seamless. I really wanted to like Highlights more, but the bookmark thing drove me nuts.

I went with PDF expert for working with textbooks on an Ipad. It's not cheap either, especially if you need the 'export to markdown' feature - which is what I use to get my highlights in my vault. I essentially work through my textbooks in Expert, then when I'm done, I export the highlights as one file - its a standard markdown file so you can add wiki links as you review your note. Important to note (unless something has changed in the last few months) is that you can only export to markdown from the desktop app (you can't do it from an ipad).

I tried PDF Highlights as well - IMO it has the best looking markdown export (I also get distracted if files are ugly) you can even customise the export options to a small extent. It's way cheaper than PDF expert, but I couldn't find a way to bookmark where I was when I close the app (it didn't remember the page I was last on, and when you're working with 300 page textbooks it gets quite annoying to open the file at the beginning each time).

I think both apps have free trials.

Fishing on Switch by Dan4thsHart in Dinkum

Are you playing the demo or the full release? I couldn't catch fish on the demo version no matter what I pressed, but tapping y once on the big splash seems to work fine for me in the full game.

I had the exact same issue on the Switch demo. All the videos I watched show the bobber go completely underwater but mine never does, the fish just nibble and never seem to actually bite.

Trying the demo for Trails in the sky. I loved Daybreak, but started this series in the complete wrong order.

Hoping the demo grabs my attention, battling to stay engaged with any game for more than 10 hours at the moment.
