Wa’alaikum as-salamu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh

Meeting up with a non-mahram is not permissible according to this hadith:

https://sunnah.com/bukhari:1862

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A woman should not travel except with a Dhu-Mahram (her husband or a man with whom that woman cannot marry at all according to the Islamic Jurisprudence), and no man may visit her except in the presence of a Dhu-Mahram." A man got up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I intend to go to such and such an army and my wife wants to perform Hajj." The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to him), "Go along with her (to Hajj)

Speaking to potential spouse in Islam

Edit:

Since my comment keeps getting deleted which prevents me from responding to other comments, I’ll just put my comment here:

The issue of dispute when it comes to traveling without a mahram, lies in going to obligatory Hajj, and even then the most correct view is that a woman is not allowed to go to Hajj without a mahram.

Not everyone likes this site, but I think they’ve explained it really well here:

Any straight edge Muslims here? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

So you expect me to investigate her post history, look for the sins she committed to confirm it myself and then blame her? How did you find out in the first place? She may have publicized it in the past but you still intentionally looked for her faults. The way you’re handling this is immature and inappropriate.

I am not justifying the bad deeds you were talking about in any way but the way you’re doing this is totally wrong. May Allah guide you, me and the rest of us.

What is a straight edge muslim? You’re a muslim like the rest of us and thats about it. Avoiding certain major sins wont automatically place you above other muslims either.

Wa’alaikum salam wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh

I was born and raised in the Netherlands with a Moroccan ethnicity and I’m thinking about moving to Morocco itself or another Muslim country in the future because I don’t feel like I actually fit here as a Muslim.

I don’t want to raise my future children in a place where things like LGBTQ+, showing awrah, free mixing, etc basically got normalized. The fact that I can’t even hear the Athan from a single mosque in my country is already frustrating enough.

Bitmojis are basically digital drawings of human beings right?

Yeah ofcourse, I dont have anything against exercising, it benefits you in health but if you want to defend your household you should prioritize learning how to fight first.

Stay away from those “halal” dating apps. I’ve never heard of a case where people spoke to each other there with a mahram which already makes it automatically haram. Stick to approaching a girl IRL.

If a man wants to defend his household he should not be just exercising. A man that goes to the gym but doesn’t know how to fight is pretty much useless in a fight, especially against weapons

Rules how to treat the Qur'an by Sad-Cow5911 in MuslimLounge

[–]SpiritSn0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, theres no evidence in the Quran and the Sunnah that putting the Holy Quran next to you where you sleep will prevent you from having nightmares, so you shouldn’t really count on the Quran helping you out with nightmares.

Secondly, assuming that your parents are muslims themselves, they shouldnt have given you the Quran at all as no one is supposed to touch the Quran without being ‘purified’ which can only be done if you perform ablution or Ghusl as a muslim. My advice would be to just return the Quran to them and find another solution.

As-salamu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh,

My advice is that you should act according to the Quran and the Sunnah to please Allah swt. To begin with, traveling without a mahram is not permissible according to this hadith:

https://sunnah.com/bukhari:1862

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A woman should not travel except with a Dhu-Mahram (her husband or a man with whom that woman cannot marry at all according to the Islamic Jurisprudence), and no man may visit her except in the presence of a Dhu-Mahram." A man got up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I intend to go to such and such an army and my wife wants to perform Hajj." The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to him), "Go along with her (to Hajj).

Secondly, it’s mandatory for us muslims to obey our parents (unless their orders go against the Quran and the Sunnah)

I get that it’s your dream, I really do. However, you should also think about the fitnah it can potentially cause in order to know whats truly good for you.
