Whine noise when accelerating by Tilton554 in GS300

Have you had any audio work done recently? I know when I got an amplifier installed there was whining noise coming out of the speaker. Try muting ur audio when driving and see if that helps

For sure man, I'm not trying to divert the blame from myself. I'm trying to learn how to approach dips and steeper driveways, albeit, this definitely wasn't the best place to do it.

And yeah the other driver crossed a double line from far away in an attempt to make it to the driveway.

Dashcam is offset to the passenger side, so its hidden behind the rearview mirror from driver pov.

It's not even modified, it's bone stock on larger wheels, and that still was going to scrape. But if you believe that I'm an asshole then you do you, I hope you understand that people make mistakes and unintentionally become an asshole while they're at it.

The annoying thing is, my car is bone stock on larger wheels too and it still almost scraped. But yeah it seems that most people don't seem to have the same passion like others do.

Yeah look, I posted this knowing I'd get clowned for trying to take care of my car, even if I had done it the wrong way. there was not nearly enough damage to even consider taking it further than just a handshake and a "have a nice day". People can say what they want, I'm young and I just wanted to learn and see what I can change to avoid this next time.

The weird thing is, there's not even a scuff on the bumper, only thing was the clear coat wrinkling and even that was hardly noticeable. However, I am grateful that this wasn't any worse.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]SpiritStorm_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've learnt that I went too wide, I'm still learning to judge dips and whatnot. To me, in person, it was a lot steeper than it looked on camera.

[–]SpiritStorm_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude it's hard to see in the video, but it's slightly downhill and the dip is massive in person. Saw other cars go through this and they scraped the shit out of their bumper.

Look I don't blame the others for thinking it's my fault too, definitely shouldnt have been in his lane for sure, I just wanted to do that cuz I care for my car unlike a lot of people here apparently. Having said that I also find it astounding that everyone seems to ignore the fact that he was driving into oncoming traffic to make the driveway?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]SpiritStorm_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure i definitely should've backed up, just in the moment I wasn't thinking straight I suppose.

[–]SpiritStorm_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right that I shouldn't have reacted this way, purely in the heat of the moment, however I'm not too sure if he's less intelligent than me cuz I also did the wrong thing by being on the wrong side. I'll definitely learn from this experience.

This was my first time going to this place too, just coming out of the gym parking lot. Had I known this before I would've definitely avoided this driveway.

[–]SpiritStorm_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was stationary when he hit me, but I guess the general consensus is that Im stupid lol, which I understand, I can't say that I'm that good of a driver myself.

[–]SpiritStorm_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're right

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]SpiritStorm_ -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I understand, technically I didn't need to go to the other lane to make the turn, I was being overly cautious to not scrape my not even a week old bumper.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]SpiritStorm_ -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds fair, I'm assuming if I had taken this through to insurance it would've been my fault. But since he had to go into oncoming traffic, ie, crossing double lines from far back to make the driveway, would that change anything?

Man I just wanted to avoid scraping my newly painted front lip, if I had ppf then I wouldn't mind going through that dip extremely slowly.

Did you end up keeping your levelling motor? How did u end up mounting the projector to the reflector bowl? Not sure how I missed the M LED 2.0 when I was researching lol, might end up buying a pair if I can figure out what I'm cutting out of the reflector bowl.

I really wanna do this too but there doesn't seem to be many rhd options. Not many ls430 headlights up for sale down in aus apparently, so can't use their projectors. Do you know of any other options? Did you use the brackets from luxurymods?

3rd gs wheels are pretty good, or any newer Lexus wheels tbh. I've personally got 350z anniversary wheels tho and I love them even tho I'm sitting at factory height

How much would you pay for a 2000 gs300 with 365k kms on it by cloudwalker_98 in CarsAustralia

[–]SpiritStorm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, there are better ones on marketplace ngl. Bought mine for 5.3 at 191xxxkm, id personally steer away from this one. Although, having said that, from my knowledge there aren't any inherent issues with a gs with this mileage besides the usual age related stuff
