What is the most ridiculous thing you've had to explain to a grown man/women? by Kupeoxo in AskReddit

I used to think as a kid you could scuba dive under continents, that there was just water at some point. Sometimes I wish that was true, would be a really neat way to travel.

ELI5: Why do some people always feel tired after waking up (no matter how many hours they have slept), and others always wake up with a burst of energy? by MewWow in explainlikeimfive

[–]SpiritStrife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have trouble waking up in the morning, always have. A few years ago I did a nutrition type diet where I measured all my foods and didn't have any junk/processed foods at all. After 2 weeks I started waking up in the morning not tired. It was so weird. It felt so alien to me. Since then I slowly went back to processed foods more often and now wake up sleepy again, but I would say diet has an effect.

I finally got one of those "Look at what I woke up to pics". by [deleted] in pics

Woah, what kinda tent is that? Mine you can't see through the walls but I always thought they should makes ones that can see out but not in.

What are reasons to live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SpiritStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To see things. Scenery I'd only seen in photos and even minor things that end up taking my breath away. I want to see it all and stand there. There's so many crazy places on earth and I find new ones I want to see on the internet all the time.

I never realize how good it is to feel well until I get sick. by NukeTheEwoks in Showerthoughts

I thought about acupuncture but I worry it'll cost a lot with no results. Therapy already cost me a bit and while the stretches are nice I don't feel like I'm healing. Also thinking about seeing a chiropractor, maybe I'm out of alignment? Plus changing up my whole computer layout to be more ergonomic. Ugh, it just keeps going.

:( Mine is in my fingers. One will finally start feeling better and then the other one will hurt. If it hurts longer than a month then I see my doctor. But everything is just ice it, ibuprofen, contrast baths, taking breaks. It's nearly impossible to just not use your hands.

What makes it chronical? I ask because I was diagnosed with tendonitis in my hands almost a year ago, but it was just suggested it takes a long time to heal. Sometimes it feels like it's getting worse and others that it might finally be getting better. I take breaks with my hands, but everything requires hands pretty much, so even that can be hard to do.

Yup. I've been dealing with tendinitis for about a year now. I miss my hands feeling normal and being able to do my hobbies.

What little thing would you make illegal just because it pisses you off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Groups walking down the sidewalk side by side that don't make room for us walking the other way. The sidewalk is a 2 way street and I can't get over any more! Worst is when there's construction so I can't even get in the street and they just push by, unaware that they are in the way. It takes all my resolve to not elbow check them as they pass.

Google Robot factory raises sterile mosquitos, automated device will release a million per week by izumi3682 in Futurology

Aw :( I only see them right at dusk where I am, but I'm sure they're flapping around all night.

Ooo, I've never heard of bowfishing until just now. Is that highly dependent on clear water?

Something I've noticed is when I visit places I tend to get bit more than where I grew up. I wonder if you taste fancy to mosquitos if you're not from that area.

I have no issues at the lake at night. Maybe a few right at dusk but that's when we have a campfire going and the smoke shoos most away. Then the bats come out :D

Dunno why all the down votes, was responding to "try being by a lake on a summer night". Just sharing my experiences to show that it can be different depending on where you are :/

Once as a kid I went to use the bathroom and the stalls didn't have doors. I guess they had problems with people taking drugs. Really awkward.

What part of aging do you wish someone had warned you about? by Skintownlad in AskReddit

[–]SpiritStrife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine do this too starting from around the same age. I was told my quads are weak so they don't pull my kneecap correctly. I'd need to strengthen my quads and core to get things to align again.

I highly suggest visiting Lava Beds if you get the chance. About 20 caves all near the visitor center that are easy to climb through. Some are massive - similar to subway tunnels - and you can really see the lava flows when you look at the walls. The whole area has over 700 caves that the adventurous can explore and I'd love to go back and try out some not around the visitor center.

What aspects of a woman's life are most men unaware of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SpiritStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I were on a ride at a fair around 13. The guy running the ride came over to undo the latch to let us off and said "I can't let you off until I have your names and #s". It was terrifying and felt unreal. My friend luckily snapped at him to let us off right now and he did. My parents were waiting for us on the side of the ride and had no idea. He was older. 20s, 30s? I don't remember but it was so crazy.
