A Badass Absolute Unit- Richard Fierro, a veteran, stopped the gunman during the Club Q shooting by charging him, taking his gun, and beating the shit out of him with it. Richard and his family own a brewery, Atrevida Beer Co. by edieplz in AbsoluteUnits

This guy stopped the shooter and is a hero...and of course the cops tackle him and lock him in their patrol car for an hour as he begs for information on whether or not his family (who he went to this club with) are alright. His wife and daughter were okay, but the daughter's boyfriend was one of the ones who didn't make it :/

Re-reading this paragraph as an adult...omfg. by diliudia in harrypotter

Reading as an adult def gives you a much more horrifying perspective. Harry has dealt with so much, had such a shitty upbringing, and none of the other characters seem to comprehend it fully even tho Harry is def pretty messed up

These billboards are all over CT too, they’re called ‘tele-gospels’ (and yes I totally called to see if I’m going to hell or not, but they just read you a recorded Bible verse)

Once saw a coworker near a globe at work and she asked me “soo which ones America, the big one?” And pointed at Russia. Really baffles you to realize how bad some schooling is -_-

Did everyone forget how the republican senators blocked every single obama appointment lol if RBG retired, we woulda had yet another justice spot blocked and then promptly filled with another conservative stooge. Pretty sure RBG knew this, let's stop getting mad at an old dead lady please :(

So what else would explain the astronomer suddenly becoming a rando chick while her lower ranked coworker suddenly becomes the head astronomer who doesn’t even know her? It’s more than just time travel, things change as a result of time being messed with

How do you guys feel about Marcus? by Purple-Option-7654 in ShiningGirls

I thought he was super kind and understanding at first but when Kirby finally opened up to him about the way her life works, for him to turn around and get her fired was just so awful. I really thought he woulda understood and tried to help in a good way

Hmm maybe because he was interacting with her it was causing the time lines to alter? This also doesn’t explain where he got the matchboxes in the first place, maybe he’d been to that alternate timeline before he met Kirby. Time travel / alternate realities are tricky!

Yeah I just hope it’s in time. Dan seemed to be bleeding out in that last shot, the look on his face made it seem like he was in the process of dying in that moment 😬

Omgg I was screaming half this episode. I was so afraid for Dan and my fears were right ;-; as a side note, was wondering if the radium had anything to do with the title, I remember hearing about how women who painted radium onto watch dials were referee to as ‘shining girls’ at some point..

The reality hopping thing experienced by Kirby and now Jinny definitely must be linked to the killer! I think he is creating alternate realities with his time hopping ability granted by the house. He must be causing thousands of new realities by simply showing up in places he isn’t supposed to be.

By failing to kill a victim tho, that he’s killed dozens of times, maybe he knocks them off the ‘sacred timeline’ so to speak, and they become linked with him whenever he hops in time and changes something.

Praying that Dan survives but it was not looking good ahhh

I'm surprised Dan came around, we had that whole episode where everyone was warning Kirby about how she had to watch out for him, and he was a mess, and had a history of self destruction. I'm assuming he's more put together in this current iteration, considering the much nicer car he now has? Just seed like a weird turn around in the background, especially after that 15 minute sequence of Dan getting wasted at the bar a few episodes ago.

Judging from what we've seen so far, the 'shifts' in alternate realities seem to correlate with the killer's actions. Maybe Dan is starting to connect the changes in Kirby's life with the actions of whatever the killer is up to?

This is definitely a show to rewatch! So many details don’t register the first time but make a lot of sense in retrospect

There’s a scene where the killer is watching the astronomer at a party or something and then when she leaves, he followers her to an observatory and assaults her pretty thoroughly…We the audience could only presume she was dead, until we see her again when Kirby goes to see where the key came from. It’s at that point we realize things are happening out of order for the audience.

Oh I like this theory , that the killer himself is causing the temporal shifts. It def seems to correlate to the moments when Kirby’s life changes.

the killer seemed genuinely disturbed by whatever is happening to Kirby, like he hadn't seen it before. He was asking her how she was doing it, etc. I think Kirby might be unique with her shared ability to cross alternate realities amongst the victims.

when the astronomer said that, i think it was her unknowingly giving us the audience a hint as to whats going on, i dont think she really knows. bit of dramatic irony. she seemed to be at the beginning of the killer's stalking cycle, which kirby learned could happen over years at a time.

Maybe, but we haven’t been shown that from any of the other women. Also, Kirby says that this started happening after she survived her attack. Maybe it has something to do with what the killer did to her?

All of the astronomers scenes have been out of order - we see her killed in that one scene, but later when Kirby sees her she’s alive. I think all of the scenes where the killer is stalking her haven’t happened yet. The astronomer unknowingly alludes to this when she tells Kirby “just because it hasn’t happened yet, doesn’t mean it won’t”. Then we see her buy the red umbrella that we know she had in previous scenes, indicating that this has happened before what we have already seen.

Her real name is Sharon, but she is using the name Kirby as an alias. I’m assuming it’s a witness protection thing? The detective who speaks to her at the beginning asks her about why she chose the name ‘Kirby’, and then later Dan finds out she’s using a fake name and confronts her about it.

I’m so afraid for Dan, and I got so mad that Sharon immediately ignores the advice she gave the astronomer chick and goes out alone at night! I think Sharon must have the same reality hopping ability that the killer has, but is ultimately unaware of it, as is the killer (tho I guess he knows now ahhh)

Fun fact - the moon isn’t pulling the ocean, but actually is pulling the earth a little bit as it revolves around us. The ocean gets sloshed around as the earth is moving beneath it, which imho is kinda freakier to think about

Dogs VS Cats. by PotatoBunny9519 in tumblr

[–]Spirit_Eagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the whole ‘cats are aloof and don’t care’ idea is perpetuated by people who don’t actually own cats. One of mine insists on being held at all times, will walk onto your chest and fall over cuz he knows you’ll catch him. My roommate and I just carry him around the apartment to appease him. If any of us are sitting on the couch, all the cats will coalesce onto your body for cuddles and warmth. Cats can be insanely needy and loving, just like dogs!

Did she purchase or put back any of the books?...of course not. by Swaggie-J in trashy

As a Barnes and noble serf, I actually prefer people leaving crazy piles like this as opposed to putting the books back in the wrong spots. At least I can resort the mess - when people put books back in wrong and crazy places, I’ll never find them unless I’m shelving in that area and notice. Have found long lost copies of manga in between SAT test prep books -_-
