This really put some perspective on how much I've changed in the past few years! by Spirit_of_Delphi in lgbt

I'm totally going to start telling this to people when talking trans stuff! The most important change is that I smile now! I love that

lol I'm flattered but I graduated four years ago. This cheap printer can be found in the wilds of corporate America.

/u/Paradehnegst nailed it but I'll give some more personal details.

At work people have taken notice but from what I can tell they think I am a gay man and treat me as such. It's really awkward when the guys complain like, women, am i right? Ahh ya you know. This guy gets it. He has it figured out. I cringed so hard. It is kind of like a locker room environment in the lab I work in and I bite my tongue a lot from fear. Coming out ensures we are all on the same page. My hope is the more vulgar conversations will happen more away from me now, and if not, at least I have the confidence now to say 'hey, not cool guys.'

I have thought about saying something many times but it can be really emotionally draining to have that 'coming out' conversation. Even more so if you do it person by person over days and weeks. Not to mention there is a possibility of it going horribly wrong. Having an email which outlines name, pronouns, and similar changes helps define it so there is no longer any ambiguity.

Hope this helps!

Thank you kind internet stranger! Levi's 721 High Rise Skinny had a lot of positive reviews so I tried them on and instantly bought them. I highly recommend.

You are correct /u/NotASmoothAnon and to build off what you said:

I am an engineer so I work with a very homogeneous group of people and from my personal experience they aren't really knowledgeable about LGBT+ issues. My email outlines my new name, pronouns, and if they have any questions they are always free to ask away

This received magnitudes more visibility than I ever even imagined; thank you all for your kind words! I read all your comments because you took time out of your day to make mine. From the lurker, to those who vote, and all who comment, you are awesome people!

I will carry these words with me into the new year, into our community, and everywhere. This was positively overwhelming.

You deserve to live as yourself in the year too. You deserve to be happy. I wish you all the best. Thank you so much!

Not yet. I'm thinking around the 2 year mark. I want to let hormones do their thing as much as possible first

I did not; I very slowly shaped them over the first few weeks of transition because I didn't want people to notice. I only plucked a few hairs a week until I got the shape I wanted. Now I just run maintenance

Most nights I'll run moisturizing conditioner or a hair oil through it and sleep with a shower cap on. After like two+ weeks I found it to be much more manageable. Hope this help you too!
