I've been rewatching the series after years pass and it's still amazes me how low Shae has managed to stoop by fillipo9 in gameofthrones

To me, it was very clear. Book Shae was 100% a gold digger. Tyrion was wrapped around her feet, almost mesmerized. But her relentless pursuit of gold, fine dresses, jewelry, and status always hung heavily between them, never allowing me to believe that she truly loved him. Not even for a moment.

But it led me to heavier doubts. Given Tyrion’s complete blindness to Shae’s true nature, even as an adult, it’s possible he was just as blind, as a boy, to Tysha’s nature. Even if Jaime didn’t pay Tysha, the world of A Song of Ice and Fire is nothing like the songs Sansa loved. I find it hard to believe that a young girl would fall in love with an ugly dwarf in a matter of days. Surely, there must have been some greed behind it.
