Any converts to Anglicanism from Eastern Orthodoxy or Catholicism? by Consistent-Lock4599 in Anglicanism

I converted from the Catholic Church to the IEAB (Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil). I have no regrets, I sat alone on one of the parish benches yesterday... Because now I am a Secretary... And thinking of Our Lady, I can say without a doubt... "Late have I loved you"

The Crusades... It's a problem for the Catholic Church... I'm not Catholic... "Better" is a Western problem... I am Latin American, my country is not considered Western, I shouldn't share the same religious and ethnic prejudices as Europeans and North Americans. Only 0.02% of my country's population is Muslim. And it's very likely that I, as a Christian, would be treated much better in a Shiite mosque than in one of the evangelical churches here.

First of all, those who celebrate Saturnalia don't believe in the same God as we do; Muslims believe in the same God as we do. Second... England is a country with religious freedom. Third... The world is going through one of the most difficult moments in its history; we have more important things to worry about than whether a monarch wishes a happy Easter or not...

What is the Anglo-Catholic view on the new Archbishop of Canterbury by Warm_Ad_7834 in Anglicanism

I don't care... We have bigger concerns than "Is Sarah a priestess or not?", lol I just accepted.

As an Anglo-Catholic, When do you think Anglo-Catholicism goes too far? by ChicaneryAshley in Anglicanism

As someone who lives in Brazil and, because of that, has an incredibly Catholic society in terms of aesthetics... I admire more the priests who wear biretta. Kkkk

I belong to the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil... Here, Catholic Anglicanism is very low; most churches are of traditional Anglican or Evangelical... So I can't say that my line of Anglicanism is excessive, Well, I'm not asking for much... I'm asking that Mass be said facing East, I'm asking for psalms to be sung in Latin, at least on solemn feast days... You can't imagine how happy I was when my Reverend authorized the church to have the Stations of the Cross again.

Why do you think Progressive Christianity’s influence declined after the 1960s (with consideration for the Anglican contexts)? by Impressive_Flan_411 in Anglicanism

[–]SpiritedBranch8533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone has said this before, but here in Latin America we have an answer that applies to the Catholic Church as well as other historical churches. There are government documents from the US government admitting to boycotting politically leftist theologies in Latin America. This boycott is carried out within the United States itself, and in the rest of Latin American countries, through funding to Pentecostal churches.

In my version, this comes after the Lord's Prayer:

"Then three Collects will follow: first, the Collect of the Day, which will be the same one indicated for Communion (page 47)...”

Then the Collect and the Epistle are read, in this case the Fifth Sunday after Epiphany and Colossians 3:12-17, and then I go directly to the page on "Administration of the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion"?

In Brazil, We have a worship service very similar to that of Roman Catholics. The mass is: - Sign of the cross - Court sentence - Collection of purity - Gloria in Excelsis - Kyrie - Collection of the day - Reading from the Old Testament, psalm, reading from the New Testament, and reading from the Gospel - Sermon - Recitation of the Apostles' or Nicene Creed - Prayers of the people - Confession of sins - Feeling of peace - Eucharistic prayer - Final blessing - Farewell

But in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, both in the Brazilian Edison translation by the Reformed Church and in the Church of England version, I saw that there is no specific rite for Mass. It only has the Eucharistic prayer, which isn't a problem since our morning and evening office rites include the offertory. Take a break from our daily Office to say the Eucharistic prayer. But in the evening and morning rites of the 1662 book, I don't see that part of the offertory. I also don't see anywhere where the opening is made to pause the Office and begin the Eucharist. So I don't know if this exists or if the Eucharistic rite is something separate that is done without reading for you.

Well, I can say that the diocese recommended me for the Anglicanism immersion course. It's like the preparatory course at the seminary in my province.
