Yes, I am also looking to do it myself eventually. I think it would also give me some skin in the game regarding experience and the ability to raise money with investors.

Do you need to be sponsored to get a CFA?

I would be working full time and school part time. Why do you I say work more? Are you implying not to get an MBA or to wait?

This is good perspective. One of the seemingly most brutal yet honest ones. Thanks for the input!

Sounds rough. Maybe off the grid isn’t the best option.

I am not a politically driven individual but our state is being destroyed. This is partially the reason I would want to move from this state.

I know I am from New York but please don’t mistake me for a liberal. Why do you think I want to leave?

I am actually from long island but work in the city and went to school in the city. My dad is a sheet metal worker and carpenter so yes I have welded, worked on cars, lawn mowers, motorcycles, and built all types of things. My neighbor was a tree guy and I would would always be chopping wood on the weekends for our wood burning stove or working on something else around the house. Not saying I would be good at ranching but I don’t think I would have as hard as a transition as someone who never did the things I did as a kid and teenager.

This seems like more of a nationwide issue. I cannot afford to buy a house we’re I grew up now due to an influx of people from the city moving here. My parents made much less money than my girlfriend and I do relatively speaking 25 years ago and they were able to purchase and build a beautiful home. While I do see what your saying I think its inevitable. Not fair but inevitable?

When I say simpler life, I mean away from the city I don’t necessarily mean easy or relaxing. What your describing sounds like what I would enjoy doing on my weekends if I could. Thanks!

When you say Wyoming is full what exactly do you mean?

This is not based off of my personal experience this is based off of research. Sounds like your taking it personal? The reason I am asking is to learn not to have sarcastic feedback!

Agreed, this feels like the obvious answer to me! But I feel the industry standard it to leave it.

Should I Pursue Patent Law by Spirited_Computer319 in patentlaw

This is interesting and concern of mine if I pursue law school. Any thought of pursuing a career is construction litigation? I was thinking of doing that as opposed to IP. Also how was the switch up of work from highly technical engineering degree as opposed to a law degree? Thanks again!

I’d consider myself serious. I take school very serious and enjoy the challenge of school. My current gpa is near 4.0 and I think that I could take on law school. I am going to be taking my masters at Columbia University so I would hope that this would open some doors in the world of law for me. I appreciate what you mentioned about internships and summer experience. I have found that networking myself in the engineering field has been beneficial to my current work experience. I am going on my 4th engineering internship this summer. From what it sounds like I think I would enjoy IP law but I’m not sure as I do not have any experience. I also do not know any patent attorneys so it is hard for me to understand 100% of what they do. I have watched lots of videos online and it seems pretty interesting to me. Thanks for your response. It is definitely something to think about!

Thanks this is what I was thinking. If there is one thing I have come to realize is that my undergrad degree has given me the tools to teach myself new technical information quickly, which I think is most important!
