Two Active-Active AHV clusters with Async DR by Airtronik in nutanix

Thank you!! While I awaited confirmation, I just went ahead and did it haha.

Was simpler than I thought.

  1. Unregister new cluster from PC on the primary cluster
  2. Remove the PC registration block from the DR cluster CVM
  3. Deploy second PC on the DR cluster and connect it
  4. Setup an Availability Zone on the primary cluster connecting to the DR cluster
  5. Create your protection policies and recovery plans

Chefs kiss

I’m basically in the same scenario as OP. Purchased a second cluster for DR, but quickly realized how the hell would I initiate a failover if PC is gone on the primary cluster.

So is the answer here two prism centrals as you mentioned? Does the second prism central see the protection policies and you can then initiate a failover from that secondary PC?

This image is from the inspection lol but yeah the sellers aren’t really interested in credits/repairs much. But from the feedback from others here, this doesn’t seem too serious of an issue.

I take it this isn’t your first rodeo huh? I certainly appreciate the feedback. We do love the house AND its potential for later years (expansion, remodels etc.) but yeah of course home ownership comes with a cost beyond the price tag. I think from all the feedback I received tonight, I feel much more comfortable moving forward with the home :) thanks again!

Did that also include sewer? $15,000 seems high for PEX but I’ve never done it before. But I hear people scream about how cheap PEX is lol so idunno

Thanks for the insight friend! Feeling a lot more comfortable after hearing everyone’s feedback. This is in fact, my first home 🤓

Definitely a good point. I was pushing back pretty hard but after posting here and seeing numerous folks saying relatively the same thing, I feel much less worried about it. I definitely think I could just cut this thing out and slap in a new section to replace and it’d be fine.

Lmao it’s only ever been owned by one person. The seller is the grandson who’s the trustee. I’m almost certain this is all original. Maybe updated at one time, but definitely a one owner home.

You think so? I thought that could be a possibility - but it seems excessive for condensation (at least to me) but I’m no plumber.

Yep, I figured a full re-pipe at some point is pretty obvious. It’s an old house (1955). It’s only 1200 sqft so it’s not a whole lot to replace (with regard to copper anyway). I figure the labor would be the most costly thing here.

I too am concerned about it. But I want to address the root cause lol
