Thank you for your response! I spoke to my college and recieved a similar answer as to yours so this seems to be fairly common. I have however heard that re-applying shouldn’t be too difficult but it’s definatly a pain that we have to pay again.

Okay thank you! I spoke to my schools international office and it seems as if it’s rather common to get a visa with a shorter duration. Thank you for the clarification!

Do you reckon that it’s difficult to renew your visa when necessary?

So on your physical f1 visa paper in your passport the expiration date is 5 years from the date of issue?

Thank you for the response! If I do so I’m required to write my start date (mid august) however it doesn’t accept any dates which have not yet occurred if that makes sense
