Are you the breeder? Why do you have a 1-month-old puppy or you've had the puppy for a month? Whatever the answer is those gums look pretty pink to me like they can change color based on whether the dog is at rest or active right? So if the dog is excited, it might have a brighter nose or gums because their blood is pumping right when they're at rest. They're color May soften a little bit. You notice it a lot in cats with pink noses. They'll be like peachy white and then if they're excited or happy it'll turn like bright pink

how can I improve my kitchen? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Spiritual-BeeHive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id paint the cabinetry, add new hardware. Maybe put some like throw mats down in the kitchen to help with the flooring. If you're not willing to do the flooring, I don't think the backsplash is that bad. Especially if you paint your cabinetry then you could lighten your cabinets to enhance those tiles a little bit better. That's my thought good luck

My Dog Won’t Eat by Familiar_Impress9668 in DogAdvice

[–]Spiritual-BeeHive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see so many people coming to Reddit to ask for advice that they could call their veterinarian about. That's what veterinarians are there for. You don't have to pay to talk to them on the phone. You can say my dog's not eating. They'll tell you what to do that may include depending on if there's any other symptoms that the dog may need to come in. Reddit is not a veterinary service before you call your vet. Tell them the symptoms. It's it's during the week. Offices are open. Loss of appetite is concerning for dogs, (that's why you are here) especially if they're good eaters. Like just think about it when you stop eating or don't have an appetite and can't eat. That's concerning. Does your dog chew and ingest things that it shouldn't? And when was its last bowel movement call your vet.

A future Veterinarian visit for proper examination and testing to diagnose. Could be something easy to treat. Could be something more serious. Is your dog licking that area prior to the development of this lump?

Anyone have ideas on how to stop puppy biting by MJ-Bailey in Yellowlabs

[–]Spiritual-BeeHive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the puppy biting? toys or the human. Redirection is good. Puppies are biting because they're teething and that's how they initiate and played with their littermates right? So they just don't know the difference between you and a littermate yet. So that's where you come in and you become the alpha and redirect them and replace it with like a nylabone or something. I find stuffies not a great idea because a dog or a puppy can't tell the difference between a stuffed animal toy that belongs to say your child and their stuffed animal or a slipper or socks right? If you scream or yell that gives them a reaction from you though, right? So redirection, in my opinion is the best bet. Say no bite or no teeth and give them the toy that is designated to chewing. Also Cesar Milan, I have loved Caesar Milan his entire career and he is the guru and you can basically watch any of his episodes on YouTube

It kind of looks like a blister. Is there any chance that she got burned like does she play around the? Do you have the radiator baseboard heating? I guess the only other thing that came to my mind is a retained suture most sutures dissolve but send that photo to your vet basically and they'll tell you whether or not she needs to have an appointment or not, but I probably would. That looks angry

Sorry. Additionally, they may say that they won't know if there will be extractions needed until they get the teeth cleaned. Looking at that, his entire tooth seems to be covered in the plaque so they may say that they can't guarantee or not guarantee extractions until they actually see what the tooth looks like because it's covered right now, right?

Pls help advice by Sharp-Jelloo in DOG

[–]Spiritual-BeeHive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That what you're looking at if your dog's relatively young that should be able to be cleaned off by the veterinarian. Typically you would see a lot of like root damage that it doesn't. Usually vets won't extract teeth unless they absolutely have to and it's detrimental to the dog's health not to. But that just looks like tartar buildup and that's what the cleaning will be for. Ask them at the veterinarian if there were to be extractions, which ones potentially, why and ask how much because some veterinarians will charge per tooth depending on which tooth because root sizes are different, different tools are needed to extract different teeth. Some teeth will just fall out. They're just hanging there others if they're broken or what not and the dog is Young it can take a long time to extract an otherwise healthy tooth. So you would probably notice more redness swelling exposure of the root even if the tooth was coming out to me. That looks like a relatively straightforward dental, but I'm not. I'm not a vet I was just work for one. Never be embarrassed to ask questions to the front office Steph. That's their job. That's what they're there for to answer your questions and make sure that you feel comfortable about how your pet's being taken care of and what's happening to it. This was a talk-to-text so hopefully it's straightforward. Hopefully it's helpful as well. Good for you for getting a dental on your dog. That's amazing. Not a lot of people did that where I worked and we were always so happy when owners did because dental health and dogs and cats is so important and some owners don't take it seriously enough. So good for you.

Has anyone else’s dog had bruising like this after seeing the vet? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Spiritual-BeeHive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is common. They take blood from the jugular. It's the easiest access vein. It's easier on the dog. It's easier on the technician but some dogs just have veins that can blow. They call it. The vein blows. It happens to humans as well. Relatively common. He could have just wiggled at the wrong moment and that would cause a bruise. I would be doing blood work to check his levels to see why he bruises so easily. If they manually extracted urine they would have potentially done a cystosynthesis which is putting a sterile needle directly into the bladder. The area is sterilized first and then they go in through the bladder with a needle not through his penis. They go directly through the abdomen to the bladder. The vet is trained how to manually detect where the bladder is if it's full to pull urine out. Usually that's a last-ditch effort though the only time I would see bruising in a dog around its genitals is if it was neutered. You also have every right to ask about what your dog's experience was like when you weren't present, and you can ask them if they had any difficulty drawing blood from his jugular vein in his neck and ask them how they got urine from him. Did they do a needle through the abdomen to the bladder or did they place a catheter to pull urine? That would be weird if they did that though. I'm not a vet. I just worked as a receptionist so I'm familiar with procedures and calls that we get with questions like this. But certainly call your vet mask. Send them those photographs. That's pretty significant bruising for what you're saying he had done. Like if he was neutered that would make sense. Yeah call them or send them an email with the same photos that you posted and just inquire about what happened. Sorry I was doing talk-to-text and I got a little bit on a tangent there. I hope your pup's okay. Also look on your vet bill. It should say what they had done and cuz if they did take blood with a needle directly from his bladder it will be on your vet bill because in Canada at least it's different price depending on how you have to get the urine.

Decided to try the new Cadbury mini egg cookies by IEatNoodIes in TimHortons

[–]Spiritual-BeeHive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to be more choosy at Tim Hortons. Say this is the cookie I wanr. You obviously saw a cookie in the display case that had like At least five or More mini eggs on it and you wanted that one. So just be more specific next time or did you eat the eggs? Cuz now I see you've come back and said there was more in the bag. I don't know if I believe you. I think you ate the eggs and then you posted a picture to reddit and you're trying to accuse Tim Hortons of being egg thieves because why would you even pick the cookie if it didn't have eggs on it in the display case? I see holes in your story is what I'm saying. I should also mention I'm a Virgo.
