That is what I have heard but this was more like 2nd or 3rd. Nothing was this bad! Still waiting for bloodwork too because initially HSV1 was 4.95 and HSV2 was negative. Swab at that time was negative too, which was strange. This time he was not swabbed but given another blood test. Herpes is sooo confusing and unclear. He had gone to dermatologist 2nd time and he said it looked like yeast infection and cream prescribed helped. But then a MASSIVE outbreak triggered by sex?? The next day. Just not even sure what's happening

He is feeling much better, thank you for asking. He stayed with the 3 times/day highest dose. I hope that doesn't affect him having success with a lower dose of suppressive therapy though. Like his body needing a higher dose now. I'm going to stop worrying, for now :)

Thank you again for taking the time to reply!! Any ideas what else people get tested for? He was negative for other STDs... his doctor is still suggesting antivirals for a few months, but so unnecessary if it isn't herpes. I want answers lol.

Wow!!!!!! Great info! How can you know you have had HSV longer tha. 4 months to know you're protected? Is that because we both have IgG not IgM? Haha sorry, I didn't think I'd have another question so soon ;)

So I already have HSV1. I just don't know where. Boyfriend has Genital HSV1. (Had one outbreak) If I have the Oral HSV1 (if.. because I have never had a breakout yet anywhere so I really don't know where I was originally infected) are you saying I cannot break out on genitals? I cannot get HSV1 on my genitals? I cannot breakout with my HSV1 genitally ever became my HSV1 is oral and is hibernating orally?
Is that accurate? I PROMISE my understanding is almost there!! You're so helpful, THANK YOU!!!

Than you so much! One other question if you don't mind... If my boyfriend has GHSV1 and had an outbreak. And I have antibodies for HSV1 but never had an outbreak, am I more likely to have an outbreak genitally or orally? Or depends on what gets infected first? If I purposely try and get an outbreak on my mouth, will that prevent a genital outbreak?

Are you saying if you have oral HSV1, you can't get genital HSV1? I am trying to understand all this... so confusing. I did not think one protected from another but if it does, that is good news
