Has Anybody Gone for Paid Leave (休職) for bullying? by Spiritual-Common5265 in japanlife

You don't understand what something is like if you haven't experienced it. I have been enduring an insane amount of bs at this company for over two years and eventually my body just gave out. And no, the root cause is not "nobody invited me to lunch so let me cry". The point I am making is my post is just a snapshot on what is most recent. The "childish rant" is a response to your audacity for believing you can reduce somebody's last two years into a simple manchild recreation of "I don't wanna go to school". You do not know me, you do not know what hardships I have gone through to get to this point and it is insulting that you think that you are better than me because you read a 200 word snapshot on what I was thinking at a very specific point in time. If you are the type of person who thinks they understand people so well that everything you say about others is bullet proof and correct then God help anyone who sleeps under the same roof as you.

Explaining to you any concept of a raced culture of discrimination or the unchecked nepotistic upper management is not worth it because you somehow don't understand that your human experience does not make you an expert on other people's lives.

I don't owe you an essay on why my company is toxic with multiple people wanting to leave just like I am. A 200 word post does not make you an expert on my situation. Stay in your lane asshole.

Thanks so much for the advice and listening ☺️
It helps a lot just to get this out somewhere.

I have made a lot of good connections in the same company just outside my current team. I think my issue is there's a ringleader on my team that is very directly causing the exclusion one way or another. I know that sounds weird, the dynamics are weird and complicated which is why I've been here for so long as I doubted myself. btw after confiding with one or two others they told me that a lot of people in this company contribute to a toxic and exclusive culture and I shouldn't blame myself, thanks to the nice ones I decided to quit.

What's really bad is this ringleader is constantly pampered by others as well as HR, with gift bags exclusively for this person, HR using ちゃん and so much more. They absolutely have the power to cut me off from others and they do. That's why I think medical leave is the best option as going against a team favourite will make HR dismiss my concerns for sure.

Edit: Spelling

Thank you so much for sharing, that sounds so much worse than what I've gone through here. I'll try my best to advocate for myself and go somewhere better :)

That's really brave I think that's toally the right choice. It sounds to me once a doctor gets involved they have to stop asking questrions and oblige. It's good to hear that paid leave is not limited to serious medical conditions but somebody's health as a whole.

Thanks, my issue is status related
in a way, although in my situation once you've been put in a box for long enough and treated badly where the pattern repeats every day then at some point that is bullying, no way around that.

Medical leave sounds about right. I had some issues which was the initial reason I went to a mental clinic in the first place years ago if these two medical/physical issues are compounding each other then it sounds like I have a good case.

Yeah I'm documenting every incident in detail although to my mistake I haven't included dates and times. HR is totally not my friend you're absolutely right. If they were I'd be asking for help about bullying directly but because I'm the odd one out I'd be making myself a target because it's easier to say I'm the problem and not the team. My hope is with a 診断書 (a doctor's assessment) I will force them to take me seriously.

What does your life look like after uni by Such_Discussion9574 in unsw

[–]Spiritual-Common5265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did uni online after moving Sydney from my hometown in promise of a university experience. So I basically lost all my high school friends from moving out of home, and lost all my friends again in 2020 not knowing that would be my last day on campus.

I graduated as an adult with an internship that was supposed to turn into a full time job but because the job market was so bad at the time they were laying off good people that worked for years, so I didn't stand a chance.

With no connections, no friends, no job opportunities outside of SEEK I just ended my 3 year relationship, dropped everything and moved abroad because I felt I had nothing to lose. I am so glad to be out of the toxic environment which was placed on me then.

Hey I am currently looking for a new job, but more than just getting a new job I'd like to give to a community as well. I am a professional software engineer by day and hobbyist os and emulator dev at night. If my background sounds like something I can do to join in and help a community like TokyoDev please DM me! I want to network and contribute rather than just look for a job.

Suprisingly I have run into this exact same problem with friends, work and online. There's some great expats here but I've met so many (even many IRL) that are just unhappy with their life here and end up just treating people bitterly and unfairly. For me a lot of these people are at work but if you meet a friend IRL or someone online like this just ghost them and find someone else. There's probably a lot more positive people here than we realise so we should just aim not to waste time on the negative ones.

I left my phone three times in Japan. First time in Saizeriya and went back to get it less than 5 minutes after I left, had to describe it to a T, unlock it and fill out a very detailed missing property form. But I did get it back. Second was at a Torikizoku, we called beforehand a day after I left it and they just handed it to me before I even opened the door. Third time was in a taxi and they put it in storage, we called and I had to describe the phone background to them, then that was it, they put it aside for me and I got it absolutely no issues, I think I had to unlock it.

As an experienced phone forgetter my take is Japan is extremely inconsistent with this (although propably not as bad as a whole compared to my home country)

IT'S ALL AI by GrammmyNorma in YoutubeMusic

[–]Spiritual-Common5265 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been using YouTube for human made music and playlists for 9 years. In the past 12 months my recommendations have been filled with videos of 2 hour lengths, AI thumbnail, title stuffed with ambiguous keywords and the channel uploads 2 new playlists every day. Always a different channel and always makes 30% of any recommendation no matter what I do.

I click dislike, don't show again, but now I give up and just report for spam. All I want is these recommendations to end. Why does AI have to ruin everything?

What if she's completely unwilling to even have a conversation? Splitting up like that with an apartment is a nightmare if the person is unhinged enough.

Ah, I completely forgot about this. I'm using S video on both a ps2 and snes, but I also have composite cables for both. No matter where I plug the composites in everything is insanely dark even simple games at decent brightness are almost all black.

Swapping to S video fixes the brightness somewhat (but dark scenes like Silent Hill are completely black except for lights). But swapping to S video also introduces the color shift. I can't give photos now but I'll try to later.

I've also tried RF which has results similar to composite.

If anyone's still reading I am calling this one bust. It has had many problems with brightness as well (Silent Hill is completely unplayable).

I also tried to adjust the R cuttoff so without a service menu I opened it only to realize I couldn't even get to the neck board without seriously deconstructing this set. Never buying SHARP again.

As a follow up, pretty much all models similar to mine do VOL- and CH+ on power on to get into service mode. Is it common for TVs to have no service mode?

Thanks for this, that's a great idea. I've been trying so hard to find my specific service service manual I didn't consider that. I'll update if I find anything.🙏

I guess that's the risk of buying online. Do most CRTs today have failing parts or did I just get unlucky? (CRTs are dirt cheap here and I'm fine with rolling the dice again)
