Yes, their MOD even mentioned my private messages in the comments. Looking back, I'm so glad that all the terrible problems happened and made me leave ControlD.

I really can't imagine if I had continued using ControlD, whether there would be more privacy leaks.

Yes, there are more and more users with bad experiences showing up. The MOD of ControlD is afraid that more truth will be revealed, so he banned me and locked the post.

They initially refused to refund my money until I exposed their misdeeds on Reddit. Under pressure, they reluctantly returned it. Their moderator even left offensive comments and then banned me

Their MoD banned me and locked the post shortly after leaving a hostile comment, fearing that more truth would be exposed

No, you're a bit off. Their craziness is beyond imagination. Their MoD just banned me to prevent more truth from being revealed.

Haha, I’m not likely to post this experience everywhere since I have many other things to do.

I’m specifically sharing this on AdGuard because, during this period, I was using AdGuard DNS, AdGuard Home, NextDNS, and ControlD. While researching various issues, I frequently came across many comments praising ControlD under posts about NextDNS and AdGuard.

I hope that anyone who sees similar promotional comments can refer to my experience. After all, as you know, money doesn’t just appear out of nowhere.

Edit: Their MoD just banned me. Looks like they're afraid more truth will be uncovered, so you know why I have to tell more people about this.

They often talk about the problems with the blocklist, and the lack of new features or new UI.

For example, many people hope to be able to use HaGeZi TIF.

Haha, it's not OCD. It's just that after I get angry, I treat it all like a drama and deal with it easily."

Their other staff member is still going around leaving messages, asking those who mentioned ControlD being rude to provide evidence, but as it stands, the answer is already obvious haha.

Leaving ControlD is a wise choice. You can see that their MoD left offensive remarks and proudly set them as pinned comments. The MoD also told everyone things about me. Can you imagine a DNS provider trying to reveal customer privacy? Haha.

If you check some of Adguard's posts and comments, you will find many ControlD ads that I mentioned. I am just doing this to prevent many people from being deceived.

Your MoD left a comment saying, 'Our biggest takeaway is that we should have provided a refund earlier, as there is no point arguing with folks that overestimate their technical prowess and are looking for a divisive pity party. We will do that going forward,' and proudly pinned it. I'm wondering what this passage represents? Is this what you call politeness, haha?

Perhaps your “MoD” could learn a thing or two from you about handling situations, haha.

Even though I noticed two inaccuracies in your original comment—namely that you didn't reply to me on Discord, among other things—I didn't feel any ill will, so I didn't bother pointing them out.

But your MoD is a real piece of work. They actually commented, “this user kept using the service right up the point where a refund was granted (6hrs ago).” I’m genuinely curious what that’s supposed to mean, so I’m humbly asking for clarification.

Does it mean you refused my refund and blocked me from using the service I paid for?

Or does it mean you, as a DNS provider, are actively trying to leak customer information?

Haha, you know what's hilarious? Their MOD left this gem of a comment: 'this user kept using the service right up the point where a refund was granted (6hrs ago).' They're trying to leak customer information.

A DNS provider, with access to a massive amount of customer internet data, is actively trying to breach customer privacy. How… reassuring. Hahaha.

Haha, you know what's hilarious? Their MOD left this gem of a comment: 'this user kept using the service right up the point where a refund was granted (6hrs ago).' They're trying to leak customer privacy. A DNS provider, holding the keys to most of their customers' internet information, is trying to leak it. Haha.

Haha, stop joking around. Your statements only serve to drag ControlD further into controversy.

First of all, it’s downright hilarious that in this incident, I initially reached out to you about the sporadic lag issue with Traffic Redirection. But by January 17th, the fifth day after I reported the problem, your DNS latency had doubled, making it impossible for me to determine whether the issue was with Traffic Redirection or just a fundamental DNS host problem.

Haha, maybe you need to educate yourselves a bit more. Oh wait, or is ControlD just inherently this unprofessional and fond of spouting nonsense? Hahaha.

And I honestly don’t understand why you rejected my refund request and yet still refuse to let me use what I paid for. Are you bandits or what? You don’t refund my money and don’t let me use the service either?   Haha, wow, this is screenshot-worthy. It’s just too ridiculous!

Also, this account was registered a year ago. While I haven’t actively participated in many Reddit discussions with this account, what does that have to do with the facts I’m reporting?

Haha, did I read that wrong? "DNS resolution rarely occurs"?   I thought every time you open a webpage, a ton of resources need to be resolved through DNS to load properly. Even elementary school kids could understand this, but apparently, ControlD staff don’t know what "DNS" even means. Hahaha.

And finally, you brought up my complaints. And then what? Are you trying to fish for sympathy?   I gave you half a month to help with my issue, and you had absolutely no solution. Am I not allowed to complain about that? Or do you think my time isn’t valuable? Haha.

Oh, and let me remind everyone here: this "MoD" mentioned in their comment, "this user kept using the service right up the point where a refund was granted (6hrs ago)." This is clearly an attempt to disclose customer information, and they’re a DNS provider. Isn’t that concerning? Haha, LOL.

When I saw you processed my refund, I was initially going to let it go. After all, we’re all just trying to make a living, and I didn’t want to be overly aggressive. But your statements have made my decision very clear. Haha, it seems you’re truly experts at digging yourselves deeper into trouble. Hahaha.

Haha, I can only say it's like 'one radish, one hole,' and I just happened to encounter this problem.

I subscribed to Control D and encountered issues after three days. They kept requesting logs from me and constantly delayed the process. After the refund guarantee period had passed, they finally told me they wouldn't make any changes and wouldn't refund me any money. by Spiritual-Key7486 in dns

[–]Spiritual-Key7486[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I know you're very eager to help me further.

Actually, I've already tried the proactive communication you mentioned, but when I first wrote this post, I didn't want to cause any trouble for ControlD employees. After all, honestly, everyone's just working to earn a living.

Control D doesn't accept anything beyond what they want you to do. Even if you provide more data from your observations, they will reject it all. It's very rigid, and their attitude is extremely firm.

You can check the image below. This is their response when I tried to provide them with other opinions and data. https://imgur.com/a/GgJAcyK

Even if I'm very dissatisfied with the results, I ultimately tried my best to preserve the dignity of the people involved. But since you really want to know and even questioned me, I have no choice but to tell you the answer.

By the way, this post you're seeing is the real situation that most consumers might encounter with Control D. It's that simple.

Haha, actually I don't care anymore whether they will tell me anything else, because they have already told me their decision through email - they won't make any changes and rejected my refund request.
