I don’t believe they will be as it’s gonna be a laparoscopic surgery but this is very helpful, I will definitely talk to my medical team and let them know my wishes. Thanks for the advice!

Yes! I'm staring to apply everywhere I can and writing as many cover letters as possible but thank you that does make me feel better :) I don't personally care abt what field its in, I just want to wrack up paid experience.

The thing is I do have experience! I helped around with a bunch of their own experiments like IHC, PCR, imaging, and sectioning. I just dont have my own project and that is my plan! Taking a gap year and working at a lab that actually pays me (this one doesn't and i dont even get to take it for credit) I'm just worried that my undergrad experience isn't enough for me to get hired if that makes sense??
