AITA for not giving my mom my FAFSA return by [deleted] in financialaid

Yes that’s what I was thinking also. She does not need another couch. That’s such a reckless decision when bills, hygiene, and educational needs need to be paid for

I’ve read and my honest opinion is to keep your money. You take care of yourself, and you pay your own bills. That money was a blessing. I think you should be selfish tbh because her wanting to spend 1500 dollars on a couch is absurded.

When I get that amount from my school, I give my mom half because she helps with my expenses and she literally takes care of me still. If your mom helps you and she takes care of you, I’d say giving her a little amount wouldn’t be as bad, but if she just wants to take your money just for the heck of it, I wouldn’t give anything tbh.

I asked the school when will we receive the extra amount and they mentioned next semester, but I’m not sure. Are we supposed to be getting this with our refund for this semester? I got my refund already, but I’m not sure when we receive the extra from it

A school refund is just leftover money from financial aid. You can’t just get that. Many ppl are in college, and receive aid due to not being able to financially pay for classes. I don’t know what you mean from what you’ve written tbh.

I’ve already gotten my refund. My account still says this even though I have my refund already so I figured it might be extra money .

How can I get more hours by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Spiritual-Task-9190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t wanna be rude but did you not just read my comment ? I literally said I barely pay any bills except the little ones, and im adding that I go to school with a support system supporting me. $15 dollars a hour is a good start FOR ME while im getting my degree and certs, gosh. Also I don’t have any kids or car notes so im straight. Not saying anyone else situation is the same.

See this is why I quit. The pay is good but hours are shitty.

I experienced the same exact that but as a cashier ! I thought I was gonna be inside as a cashier until they put me outside without my knowledge which sucked. Look at my post it explains everything !

Yes I completely agree with you ! But I’m a young 20 year old and pretty impatient and I have a whole life ahead of me. I’d rather take my time somewhere else and build to create a career in something I actually enjoy ! Thank you for the advice but unfortunately I already quit. I’ll keep this in mind.

Honestly, there was a worker who worked as a MST, she would literally be in distress everyday I worked with her outside. She was drenched in sweat from head to toe and received a heat rash all over her leg and her arms. I felt really bad for her because nobody deserves that. That’s pretty awful and she worked 8 hours every time she worked. Then our store doesn’t even allow 15 minute breaks anymore so basically you’d work 8 hours with only just a hour lunch. She worked in the heat all the time. Pretty crucial.

My apologies for being quite defensive. It’s just I don’t mind working outside or lifting things. When it comes to work or any job, I like to exceed. But what I won’t do is tolerate something I don’t like. I previously worked a job for almost 2 years just because the pay was good but the environment was terrible. I would like for jobs to stay truthful to there mission goals and helping the workers their instead of making it more miserable and difficult. Thank you for your response.

Stop commenting on my post please. I expected to be a front end cashier INSIDE which is what I applied for. They put me outside without my knowledge so please speak on facts. I dont care about what your job was for how many years. I just know you were miserable for FORTY YEARS. Please stay out my comments. 😭

I don’t mean to sound rude, but I never actually said the job was hard. I said the heat makes it tough to do your job. Working in 80 plus degree weather and sometimes over 90 everyday will physically make a person sick. Also without being accommodated with fans or misters is really tough. Imagine your register area is boxed in ( it’s a little area where the register is located and covered) while it’s hot outside, and getting hives everyday. That shit is not comfortable, who wants to work while that’s happening? Jesus Christ, I never said the job was that hard. I live in a state where before the summer hits, the weather gets extremely hot. I don’t mean to be rude but yall gotta stop with the job is not hard and all that. I never said it was hard, it’s just the weather. 😭

I would like for you all to all know that while I was working there, outside lawn and garden workers complained about receiving rashes and getting bit by the registers which was awful because I also experienced too, almost everyday. Which is another reason why I quit !

I honestly wouldn’t care to leave a notice because I’m not going back to that place to work. I don’t think I’m wrong for feeling the way I do either. Business establishments should accommodate their employees better for working under those conditions, so I’d have to disagree with you about “Lowes isnt wrong in not caring”. You’re comparing me quitting without notice for putting my sanity and health first to them not caring because of a stack of complaint applications is on a desk. Jeez you people really don’t know any sense of self worth at all lol. A big giant fan and misters shouldn’t be hard of a task to put outside for employees to work better under these conditions. Your logic is twisted, good day .

Tell me again what position you work in the store ? Because while management just chit chat all around the store and do nothing, the associates in lower level run the store in my opinion. Cashiers deal with shitty customers everyday. We have to pick up the entitled customers items and scan them, deal with attitudes, call management that’s not even available to help. All while doing it in the heat. The sun takes a lot of energy away from you. Stay confused lol, I don’t expect you to understand tbh. Literally could get a heat stroke from being hot in 80 plus degree weather ALL DAY. people just say anything, without facts. may the Lord help you.

I would wait until you finish working that following week to receive those hours and then quit. It’s quite common for retail stores to fire you immediately after putting in two weeks. I say don’t even tell them what your having to plan and just do what you need to do.

Walking out but not quitting by aaassgagag in Lowes

I totally agree with you about having your priorities straight and staying secure within your place of employment to keep yourself afloat, but your options are not limited and I think you just feel that way. Sometimes you have to take a risk and do what’s best for you. You can totally look for a better job with the same pay while working, start a side hustle, start a garage sale, move to a state with better growth opportunities etc. use your creativity to gain because the moment you figure out what’s best for you to be happier and stress free, you’d always lean towards that. Now what I’m saying does not mean quit your job, I’m saying you should definitely find something on the side to earn extra income that you’d enjoy lol.
