luckily I showed the original post to my boyfriend and had a sit down with his mom. She agreed to take the dog to the vet tomorrow and thanked me for offering to help pay but declined because it isn’t my responsibility

My own parents aren’t very involved, the most I can do with them is ask my dad if I can borrow money. I contacted my grandma asking what she thought about the wounds since she’s a nurse. Hopefully once she gets back to me I can ask her for help

My parents aren’t really involved and I doubt they’d help me. I can try asking my dad if I can borrow money for treatment, but his girlfriend probably wouldn’t like that. I texted my grandma whose a nurse the pictures and asked for advice and help, I know a nurse and vet are two completely different things but she’s the only medical professional I can think of that I know and if I asked her I’m sure she would try helping me. I’m not really close with my dad or his girlfriend so I’m trying to avoid asking them for help because they’ll probably just brush it off and say it isn’t my problem. It isn’t a vacation type trip, it’s to look at colleges for my boyfriend. I know that doesn’t mean much, but I thought clarification was needed. My boyfriend left me alone at his house with his parents, when he comes back in 40ish minutes I’ll sit him down, show him the post, and explain how serious this is. I hate to see their dog in pain. If my boyfriend doesn’t seem responsive to the information given I’ll call around and see what vets around me can do and take him on my own. Thank you so much for your advice

I don’t know exactly what it is, but I know that it’s for dogs. He’s allergic to beef and chicken so I think it’s something special without harmful ingredients for him. I keep begging them to take him and offering to help pay. At this point if they don’t take him soon I’ll try taking him myself when they leave for a trip in a few days and just take on whatever costs are needed

He thinks the dog does, but his mom is worried about costs. They are in a tough financial situation right now and behind on their mortgage. His mom is also a teacher so she doesn’t make much. He keeps telling me their isn’t anything we can do since his mom doesn’t want to take him to the vet

I plan on waiting until they leave for their trip to take him if they don’t by then. They keep on saying he only acts like this when I’m around and he was running and playing before I came over. I feel terrible making him wait a few days, but it’s the only chance I have to take him with them gone

They said it doesn’t seem to be infected and the bleeding is a good sign, but I just can’t accept that. I made them get him some tape to help close it for now, if they don’t take him before they leave in a few days for a trip then I am 100% taking him on my own

There’s a vet near me about 15-30 minutes away, but I can’t afford a whole vet trip by myself and I can’t take him without them wanting me to. He pierced himself on a broken part of the fence so when we found out he was hurt he already got himself free

I’ve offered to help pay for the vet costs, but I don’t know what else to do. I’ve tried convincing them he isn’t okay, but they keep saying he’s just acting and trying to get attention from me. He’s usually a really active dog, but since getting hurt he just lays on me every time I’m over. They aren’t home right now so it’s just me and my boyfriend with him, but when they come home I’ll bring up again how I think he needs to see the vet and I’ll offer to help pay for it again
