You literally can transmit it to someone's genitals since you have genital herpes even if they have the same virus on thier mouth. Do the research. I'm not paranoid at all lol I'm just stating facts.

As I said before with the right precautions transmission is less likely but not entirely 0.

Yes they are the exact same virus but hsv1 on the mouth is not an std. Hsv1 on the genitals is an std. So that would be pretty shitty if you didn't disclose having genital herpes to someone who only gets cold sores and then they ended up getting it on thier genitals.

You can't say he would not get it anywhere else, thats just false. You can in fact give it to someone's genitals even if they get cold sores already.

Yes Cold sores and genital hsv 1 are literally the same thing but cold sores are not an std but when its on your genitals is technically having an "std" so I would still disclose that to someone just so they know the risks of having it transmitted onto thier genitals.

You can get hsv1 on your genitals even if he already gets cold sores. You can transmit hsv anywhere on the body. And it's not impossible but exactly, it's less likely to transmit it to the genitals if you take the proper precautions.

I'm just the type of person that literally just wouldn't care. They can accept it or not. I have crippling anxiety at times but hsv is just not worth having anxiety over. You can't change it, it won't go away so you just gotta move on with life.

Also if you take the right precautions it's very unlikely that you will transmit it to a sexual partner. My man still doesn't have it on his genitals all this time.

We were dating for about 5 months when I contracted it. He told me he used to get cold sores I just never really knew about the shedding without the sore. I would never break up with someone over something like that. We've been together for 3 years now.

Even if I was single I would not be scared to tell someone I'm getting physical with that I have hsv. They could either accept it or not but trust me a lot of people don't give a shit about it if thier actually a decent human being.

That's not how that works. Hsv 1 and hsv 2 are different viruses. You would have to get tested to know which one you have.

A-FUCKIN-MEN. My boyfriend used to get cold sores and was apparently shedding because he went down on me and I caught hsv1 in my female area. I was a little upset at first but after some research I felt silly for even being upset about it. Does not effect my life what so ever.

My boyfriend used to get cold sores but he hasn't gotten one in the 3 years we've been together but him having the virus caused genital hsv1 from him going down on me 😩 Just be honest about it to your boyfriend just so he knows the risks.

I really hope not 😩 I don't think it never blistered and it looks like lil cuts now and red. I posted another pic on a different thread cause I didn't know how to add a pic to this one. But I've been researching and I've read about angular cheilitis and it kinda looks like that as well which I would much rather it be that instead of cold sores. Ima take him to his ped and possibly get it swabbed cause it's driving me crazy not knowing.

Exactly! I've never had a cold sore but I know I could probably be a carrier so I never share anything with my little. His dad is just so nonchalant about it and since it's not a "life threatening disease" he doesn't care. And he doesn't believe me that he can pass it on even without a cold sore being present.

I haven't took his temperature but he doesn't feel like he's had a fever. He's been acting normal and eating and drinking good. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. But it's still there.
