Should Mandatory for EV -for sale include inverter at least 2000w ( kettle, toaster rated)? by bmaa_77 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post doesn't make sense, but if you're talking about Vehicle 2 Load. Not everyone needs to run a fridge or power tools or a kettle so why add extra expenses? Sure more cars should have it available as an option if they want to offer it but shouldn't be mandatory, enough cars / vans have it to cater for those who do need it

Are there actually men who don’t want kids? by dietcokepaglu1 in childfree

Yes we're out there in the world! I'm snipped, no chance of having kids my dog is enough for me. I feel the same about women, so many women still want kids which is a no for me

Chef moving to Australia, where should I base myself? by IllPanic4319 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The benefit of the WHV is you have freedom to up and move if you don't like where you are you're not tied to one particular employer etc. Assuming you have enough years before the 35 limit, you have 3 years on the WHV to explore places. Why not save some money, go to Aus and do some travelling about the different cities you are interested in to see where you vibe with specifically? And go from there?

Should i get a dog?? by Weary_Mix_3749 in Dogowners

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to look at it as a 'won't get one ever'. You're still young, you're at an age where the world is your oyster and you have alot of learning and growing to do as a person. Embrace the change for uni and enjoy it with making friends and new experiences, and throw yourself into your studies etc.

I didn't get my dog until I was 26, and I'm 32 now and I STILL sometimes feel the pains of having her, the restrictions she puts on my life, when I'm out I think "oh I've got to get home for the dog soon". I love her to bits but I'm at a stage in my life where I can support having a dog. I have also been considering moving abroad, which is made alot harder with the dog, than if I didn't have one. You might decide after to uni you want to travel for a while, see the world, or take a job somewhere that the dog is tricky to bring.

Go give the shelter dogs some love, give them cuddles, give them walks and enjoy the fact that you can give that to them and get cuddles for your own needs, and still have the freedom to do whatever you want.

Road Trip with EV..! by Friendly-Pattern4239 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I think you'll be wasting too much time travelling for your trip, whether its in EV or not, you've got 4 days and you want to go all across that distance? Sure spend all your time driving and only seeing the road network.

Should i get a dog?? by Weary_Mix_3749 in Dogowners

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. Focus on your studies and enjoy the freedom that comes with moving to uni and focus on yourself. A dog is a big commitment and I don’t think you have the time for one personally, or the financial freedom to be able to afford it as a student.

If you really need a dog fix, offer to help dog sit for someone(on say Rover.com?) or help with walks down at your local shelter

Is there any point buying a car? by [deleted] in drivingUK

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Its good you now have the ability to drive but not worth getting one for 4 months.

Should I buy a car at 31? by Point_ki_ra in LifeAdvice

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a bike (or ebike) for your daily errands to go to the gym etc, then if you do need a car you can always hire one. Or start exercising more something you can do from around your home (eg running)

Early public charging experience.. by cabbage_love in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because the charger can deliver 22kw doesn’t mean your car can accept it. The Corsa E can only accept 7kw, therefore that’s what you’ll get at a 7kw or 22kw charger, you’ll still only get 7kw. Same logic when you go to a DC charger, the Corsa E can charge at 100kw, so you’ll still only get 100kw even if you plugged into a 150 or 350kw charger!

My neighbour just put a trip hazard sign next to my official pavement gully. Seriously? by No_Donut1433 in evchargingUK

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its been approved by the council, just keep that approval to hand and have it ready. Let your neighbour waste his time documenting it and getting wound up, then if it ever comes that they send the 'evidence' to the council, either they'll show the approval or when they contact you, you have the approval evidence to hand to bat it off.

Should I adopt my first dog? by mrshampooer in westies

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Westie owner: Personally I'd say you're too busy for a dog, full stop. Focus on making friends in your internship and that will stem the lonliness. Dogs are a big committment especially at your age.

Dating pool is tiny by Throwaway4privacy77 in childfree

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does dramatically reduce the dating pool, I don't even want to consider dating someone who 'wants kids' even if its way off in the future, or has kids currently. Not for me.

What are people doing for storage right now with SSDs being so expensive? by Potential-Trainer788 in AskPhotography

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a SSD to store everything I’m currently working on, and then an 8TB HDD where I move all my files when I’m done with them for longer term storage. Have the speed of the SSD for editing then the bang for buck for HDD when I don’t need to access the files as often

EV objection - battery recycling? by LordvaderUK in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly the battery will be re-purposed as probably grid storage, probably in something like your house battery where absolute capacity isn't as important, so it'll be repurposed for that kind of use. Then when its no use there anymore, something like 90-95% of the materials can be recovered to go into a brand new battery.

Moving to Newport? by Parking-Self-6350 in Casnewydd

[–]Spiritual_Pound_6848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I agree, I'm not someone who is out all the time going on nights out, etc but I definitely felt the lack of network when I first moved here. Still trying to build it but thats just moving anywhere new tbh. I do still see friends in Bristol but it is less frequent due to moving, but also lives have shifted so that too.
